Thermapipe   Back to Ducting & Ventilation

THERMAPIPE is the most advanced solution for the distribution of hot and cold fluids, under and above ground, with working temperature between -100°C and +148°C. It consists of a carrier pipe in steel, galvanized, clad, stainless steel, HDPE or fiberglass and a polyurethane insulation which thickness depend on insulation level to be achieved and Cool Down time, according to the project specification.
The High Density Polyethylene outer jacket is working as water barrier and assures protection against corrosion. For offshore application the pipe outer jacket is made of steel, anti-corrosion coated. The Thermapipe insulated pipe can also be concrete weight coated to reach the required negative buoyancy.

The thermal insulation is in polyurethane foam, pentane blown, directly poured into the annular cavity. For temperatures higher than 148°C and up to 250°C a first layer of calcium silicate is applied before the polyurethane foam injection. The application is made according to European Standards EN 253, 448, 488, 489 or to specific project requirements. Elbows, tees, valves, and all other preinsulated fittings are also factory manufactured. An electronic surveillance system may be installed to detect and localize the presence of moisture or leaks in the system.
