Blum CLIP top 79A9698BT +45° Type I Half-Overlay INSERTA Hinge

The Blum 79A9698BT is a sprung CLIP top concealed hinge designed for +45° Type I half-overlay angled-cabinet applications. This specialist hinge geometry is commonly used on corner cabinets with set-back fronts where a door partially overlays a shared cabinet panel.

The hinge provides a 95° opening angle and uses Blum's tool-free INSERTA cup fixing. Once the door has been correctly drilled, the expanding INSERTA mechanism secures the hinge without conventional cup-fixing screws.

INSERTA drilling requirements

Installation requires a 35mm hinge-cup hole and two accurately positioned 8mm auxiliary holes for the INSERTA expanding fixings. The door should be drilled using the Blum INSERTA pattern before the hinge is pressed and locked into place.

Mounting-plate selection

A compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate is required and sold separately. Blum's current +45° Type I planning examples for application numbers 53 and 60 use a 0mm plate such as 173H7100. The correct plate must still be checked against the door thickness, cabinet construction, drilling position and required half overlay.
