Blum CLIP top 79A9658.T +45° Type I Half-Overlay Screw-On Hinge

The Blum 79A9658.T is a sprung CLIP top concealed hinge designed for +45° Type I half-overlay angled-cabinet applications. This specialised geometry is commonly used on corner cabinets with set-back fronts where two cabinet doors share or partially cover a central cabinet panel.

The hinge provides a 95° opening angle and uses a conventional screw-on 35mm hinge cup. Its self-closing spring draws the door closed, while the CLIP connection allows the door to be attached to or removed from the separately purchased mounting plate without tools.

Screw-on cup drilling

The hinge requires a 35mm cup hole drilled 12.3mm deep. The two cup-fixing holes are positioned on 45mm centres, with a 9.5mm offset from the hinge-cup centreline. Blum specifies a drilling distance of 3–7mm.

Mounting-plate selection

A compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate is required and sold separately. Blum's current +45° Type I planning examples use a 0mm mounting plate, such as 173H7100, for application numbers 53 and 60. The exact plate must still be checked against the cabinet construction, door thickness, drilling position and required half overlay.

Is the Blum 79A9658.T sprung?

Yes. It contains a closing spring and is self-closing. It should not be described as unsprung.

Is this an overlay or half-overlay hinge?

Blum specifies half-overlay cranking. Hart may also refer to this configuration as dual because the door shares or partially covers a cabinet panel.

Does the hinge include BLUMOTION?

No. For integrated, switchable soft closing, use the Blum 79B9658 +45° Type I screw-on hinge.

Is this hinge suitable for TIP-ON?

This sprung version is not the normal hinge specification for a TIP-ON handleless door. TIP-ON applications generally require the corresponding unsprung hinge.

What does +45° Type I mean?

It identifies the cabinet angle and the specialised half-overlay hinge-arm geometry. A Type II or Type III hinge has different arm geometry and is not an automatic substitute.

Is the hinge completely tool-free?

No. The hinge cup is secured to the door with screws. Only the CLIP connection between the hinge arm and mounting plate is tool-free.

Is the mounting plate included?

No. One hinge is supplied and the compatible CLIP mounting plate must be ordered separately.
