Blum CLIP top BLUMOTION 155° Zero-Protrusion Hinge – Onyx Black

The Blum 71B7550 CLIP top BLUMOTION hinge is a premium wide-angle concealed hinge for full-overlay cabinet doors. Its 155° opening angle and zero-protrusion geometry make it especially suitable for cabinets containing internal drawers, pull-out shelves, wire baskets and storage systems.

When correctly planned and fully opened, the zero-protrusion design moves the door clear of the cabinet’s internal opening. This helps internal drawers and pull-outs extend without colliding with the back edge of the door.

Integrated BLUMOTION soft-close technology provides smooth, quiet and controlled closing without requiring a separate damper. BLUMOTION can also be switched off at the hinge when necessary, helping to achieve the correct closing action on smaller or lighter doors.

Designed for internal drawers and pull-outs

With an ordinary overlay hinge, the open door can remain partly in front of the cabinet opening. This may prevent an internal drawer or pull-out basket from extending correctly. The 71B7550 is designed to move a correctly positioned overlay door clear of the cabinet interior when opened fully.

Zero-protrusion performance depends on the door thickness, overlay, cup-boring distance and mounting-plate height. Always verify the complete Blum planning dimensions before drilling or replacing an existing hinge.

Screw-on cup fixing

The term screw-on refers to the method used to secure the hinge cup to the cabinet door. It does not refer to the mounting plate. The hinge requires a 35mm cup hole and is secured through its two cup-fixing holes.

A compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate is required and must be ordered separately. The correct plate height depends on the required overlay and cabinet construction.

What does zero protrusion mean?

When the hinge is correctly planned and fully opened, the cabinet door moves clear of the internal cabinet opening. This provides the clearance required for internal drawers, pull-out shelves and storage baskets.

Is this the 155° or 125° version?

This listing is for the original 71B7550 155° hinge. It must not be confused with the later 71B7550D model, which has a 125° opening angle.

Is the mounting plate included?

No. This product contains one hinge only. A compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate must be selected and ordered separately.

Does screw-on describe the mounting plate?

No. Screw-on describes how the hinge cup is secured to the door. The separately purchased mounting plate may have screw-on, EXPANDO, system-screw or knock-in cabinet fixing.

Can the BLUMOTION soft close be switched off?

Yes. The integrated BLUMOTION mechanism has a deactivation switch for applications where reduced damping is required.

Can the opening angle be restricted?

Yes. Compatible Blum restriction clips can reduce the opening angle where nearby walls, handles or adjoining cabinets make the full 155° movement unsuitable. Restriction clips are sold separately.

What drilling is required?

The hinge uses a 35mm cup with a minimum drilling depth of approximately 11.7mm. The screw-on fixing holes have 45mm spacing. Confirm all dimensions against Blum planning information before machining the door.

What door thickness can be used?

Blum specifies this hinge for doors up to 24mm thick. The permitted thickness and overlay still depend on the door-edge profile, cup position, mounting plate and required opening clearance.
