The Blum 79B3490 is a specialised CLIP top BLUMOTION concealed hinge for −45° Type III maximum-overlay angled-cabinet applications. It is intended for cabinet fronts that angle inward, while the maximum-overlay hinge arm provides increased door coverage over the cabinet side.

The hinge offers a 110° opening angle and integrated, switchable BLUMOTION soft closing. Its INSERTA cup uses expanding fixings for quick, tool-free installation into a correctly prepared door.

Technical specification

INSERTA drilling requirements

The door requires a 35mm hinge-cup hole drilled 13mm deep and two accurately positioned 8mm auxiliary holes on 45mm centres. The INSERTA mechanism expands inside these holes to secure the cup without conventional fixing screws.

Mounting-plate selection

A compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate is required and sold separately. Blum's planning information for the −45° Type III application, application number 27, specifies a 3mm mounting plate such as 173H7130.

Final plate selection must be checked against the door thickness, cabinet dimensions, drilling position and required maximum overlay before production drilling.
