The Blum 71B9690 is a nickel-plated CLIP top BLUMOTION hinge designed for thick and profiled cabinet doors. Its dual, commonly called half-overlay, hinge arm is intended for installations where two doors share the same central cabinet partition.

The hinge opens to 95° and features Blum's integrated BLUMOTION mechanism for controlled, quiet door closing. Its INSERTA hinge cup provides fast, tool-free attachment to a correctly prepared door drilling pattern.

What is a dual or half-overlay hinge?

A dual or half-overlay hinge is typically used when two cabinet doors are mounted to opposite sides of the same central partition. Each closed door covers only part of the cabinet panel edge. This differs from a full-overlay hinge, where a single door covers most of the panel edge, and an inset hinge, where the door sits inside the cabinet opening.

INSERTA tool-free cup fixing

The INSERTA mechanism secures the hinge cup to the door without conventional fixing screws. The door must be machined with the correct 35mm cup hole and INSERTA fixing pattern. Once positioned, the INSERTA locking mechanism is pressed into place to secure the hinge.

INSERTA describes the hinge-to-door fixing; it does not replace the separate cabinet mounting plate.
