Osmo WR Base Coat Clear (4001C) is a water-repellent primer coat designed for use on exterior timber surfaces before applying Osmo exterior finishes such as Country Colour or UV-Protection Oil. It penetrates deep into the wood to provide an initial layer of water repellency and improve the adhesion and performance of the subsequent top coat.

Particularly recommended for use on new, absorbent, or previously untreated exterior timber, it helps to stabilise the surface and ensure a consistent, even finish from the top coat.

• Finish: Clear — primer/base coat, not a decorative finish
• Coverage: Approx. 8–12 m² per litre
• Application: Brush or lint-free cloth, applied thinly along the grain
• Coats required: 1 coat base + 2 coats Osmo exterior top coat
• Suitable for: Exterior timber cladding, fences, garden furniture, and decking
• Properties: Water-repellent, penetrating, stabilising base coat
• Drying time: Approx. 12 hours before top coat
