Blum 79T9550 CLIP top 95° Sprung Blind-Corner Hinge

The Blum 79T9550 is a sprung, self-closing 95° inset blind-corner hinge with a screw-on hinge-cup fixing. It is designed for mounting a cabinet door to an inset muntin or fixed blind-corner panel, where an ordinary inset hinge would not provide the required mounting geometry.

This is a standard CLIP top self-closing hinge without integrated BLUMOTION. Its internal spring pulls the door closed, while the CLIP connection allows the door to be attached to or removed from the separate mounting plate without tools.

Important model distinction

This listing is for the older 79T9550 sprung, self-closing hinge. It must not be confused with the 78T9550.TL, which is an unsprung, free-moving hinge intended for a TIP-ON push-to-open arrangement.

If replacing an existing hinge, check the number stamped on the hinge arm and the closing action before ordering. A sprung 79T9550 and unsprung 78T9550.TL perform different functions.

Blind-corner mounting requirements

For the planned inset blind-corner application, use a 3mm-spaced standard Blum CLIP mounting plate. Blum specifies that the normal mounting-plate fixing positions are moved 15.5mm towards the edge of the muntin, producing a 21.5mm mounting setback.

The required reveal is calculated using: F = 8mm minus the hinge-cup drilling distance (TB). Check the door thickness, drilling distance, mounting-plate position and finished gap before production drilling.

Do you require soft closing?

The 79T9550 is self-closing but does not contain integrated BLUMOTION. For built-in, switchable soft closing, choose the Blum 79B9550 CLIP top BLUMOTION version instead.
