The Blum 71B9750 CLIP top BLUMOTION profile hinge is designed for thick or profiled inset cabinet doors. Its specialised full-cranked geometry positions the closed door inside the cabinet opening while providing the additional clearance required by thicker doors and decorative edge profiles.

The 95° opening angle controls door movement and reduces the space required behind the open door compared with a standard 110° hinge. This makes the hinge suitable for thick kitchen doors, routed or moulded fronts, fitted furniture, media units and bespoke inset cabinetry.

Finished in premium Onyx Black, the hinge coordinates with dark cabinet interiors and black mounting plates. BLUMOTION soft closing is integrated directly into the hinge cup and can be deactivated on individual hinges when reduced damping is required.

For thick and profiled doors

Standard cabinet hinges may cause a thick door or decorative edge profile to contact the cabinet during opening. The 71B9750 uses specialised hinge geometry and a restricted 95° opening angle to provide improved clearance for these applications.

The required clearance depends on the door thickness, edge radius, drilling distance and mounting-plate height. Blum's planning tables cover front thicknesses up to 32mm, but a trial installation is recommended before machining a complete set of doors.

Inset installation planning

Because this is an inset hinge, the closed door sits inside the cabinet opening. The cabinet-side mounting-plate fixing position must normally be moved back by the door thickness plus 1.5mm. Check all dimensions against the cabinet construction before drilling.

The screw-on hinge cup requires a 35mm drilling approximately 13mm deep. Secure the cup using fixings appropriate for the door material and thickness.

Mounting plate required

HIO71B9750 is supplied as one hinge. A compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate must be selected and purchased separately. The correct plate height depends on the door thickness, required inset position, drilling distance and cabinet construction.
