PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Blum 79B9550.83 CLIP top BLUMOTION 83° Blind-Corner Hinge

The Blum 79B9550.83 is a specialist 83° inset blind-corner hinge with integrated BLUMOTION and a screw-on hinge-cup fixing. It is designed for mounting an inset cabinet door to a muntin or fixed blind-corner panel where a restricted opening angle is required.

Compared with the standard 95° blind-corner hinge, this version limits the door to 83°. This can help where the cabinet design, neighbouring furniture or internal fittings do not provide enough clearance for the wider opening movement. The application and clearances must still be checked before drilling.

When should the 83° version be used?

The 83° hinge is intended for blind-corner cabinets where the door must stop earlier than it would with the standard 95° version. This may be required to reduce the movement of the door around nearby furniture, handles, internal fittings or other obstructions.

The restricted opening angle should not be used as a substitute for checking the actual installation. Complete a trial assembly and confirm the available clearance before batch drilling.

Blind-corner mounting requirements

This hinge requires a 3mm-spaced standard Blum CLIP mounting plate for the planned inset blind-corner application. Blum specifies that the standard mounting-plate fixing positions are moved 15.5mm towards the edge of the muntin, producing a 21.5mm mounting setback.

The required reveal is calculated using: F = 8mm minus the hinge-cup drilling distance (TB). Door thickness, drilling distance, mounting-plate position and the required minimum gap must all be considered together.

Please note: The mounting plate and hinge-cup fixing screws are not included unless expressly stated. Check the complete application before drilling.

83° or 95°?

Choose the 79B9550.83 when the door requires a restricted 83° opening. Choose the standard 79B9550 when the full 95° blind-corner opening is suitable. Both versions are inset, sprung, screw-on hinges with integrated BLUMOTION.

Frequently asked questions

Why does this hinge open to 83°?

It is a restricted-opening version for blind-corner installations where the standard 95° door movement would provide more travel than the cabinet design allows.

Does it include soft closing?

Yes. BLUMOTION soft closing is integrated into the hinge and can be switched off individually when required.

What does screw-on mean?

It means that the 35mm hinge cup is secured to the door with screws. The hinge arm connects separately to a Blum CLIP mounting plate.

Which mounting plate is required?

Use a compatible 3mm-spaced standard Blum CLIP mounting plate for the planned inset blind-corner application.

What is the correct hinge-cup drilling depth?

The 35mm hinge cup requires a drilling depth of 13mm.
