Blum 71B9790 CLIP top BLUMOTION 95° Inset INSERTA Hinge

The Blum 71B9790 is a nickel-plated CLIP top BLUMOTION hinge designed for thick and profiled inset cabinet doors. The cranked hinge arm positions the door inside the cabinet opening, while its restricted 95° opening angle helps control door movement in installations where a wider-opening hinge may be unsuitable.

Integrated BLUMOTION technology provides smooth, controlled soft closing without requiring a separate damper. The hinge also features Blum's INSERTA tool-free cup fixing, allowing rapid installation into a correctly prepared door drilling pattern.

Inset-door application

An inset hinge is used where the cabinet door closes inside the cabinet opening rather than covering the cabinet side or frame. Correct planning is particularly important because sufficient clearance must be allowed between the door edge and cabinet panel throughout the opening movement.

The door thickness, edge profile, hinge-cup position, cabinet construction and selected mounting plate all affect the final reveal and door position.

INSERTA tool-free fixing

Blum's INSERTA mechanism secures the hinge cup to the door without conventional cup-fixing screws. The hinge is inserted into the prepared 35mm cup hole and two 8mm fixing holes before the INSERTA locking mechanism is closed.

INSERTA refers to the hinge-cup connection to the door. A separate Blum CLIP mounting plate is still required on the cabinet.
