Blum MOVENTO Concealed Drawer Runners

MOVENTO is Blum's concealed runner system for wooden drawers. Standard MOVENTO runners sit hidden beneath the drawer box, so nothing is visible from the side when the drawer is open. A synchronised running mechanism delivers a light, stable glide across the travel length. MOVENTO runners are designed for frameless cabinet construction and are widely used in kitchen, bedroom and furniture work.

Motion Technology: BLUMOTION and TIP-ON

MOVENTO is stocked here in two motion types, and they do different jobs. BLUMOTION runners provide soft closing: the drawer decelerates and closes quietly under its own momentum. TIP-ON runners provide mechanical push-to-open operation for handleless drawer fronts: a light push on the closed front releases the drawer so it glides out. TIP-ON runners are a push-to-open mechanism and are not soft closing. Choose the motion type by how you want the drawer to open and close, then check that the length and load rating you need is available in that type.

Lengths and Load Ratings

Load ratings vary by model, and not every motion type is offered in every length and rating. The MOVENTO runners stocked at Hart Wholesale cover 40 kg, 60 kg and 70 kg nominal ratings:

  • 40 kg in nominal lengths from 250 mm to 600 mm, in both BLUMOTION and TIP-ON.
  • 70 kg in nominal lengths from 450 mm to 650 mm, in both BLUMOTION and TIP-ON.
  • 60 kg for the 700 mm and 750 mm DR766 BLUMOTION and TIP-ON runners. The longest runners in the range are rated 60 kg, not 70 kg.
  • A separate base-mounted BLUMOTION variant is stocked in the 40 kg rating at 350 mm to 500 mm.

Always confirm the nominal load rating on the individual product page for the exact model you are ordering.

Fixing Options and Components

Standard MOVENTO runners are concealed beneath wooden drawer boxes. Base-mounted variants are stocked for applications where the standard arrangement is not suitable. Adjustment features and any extra components depend on the runner and the installation: Blum lists depth adjustment as optional for the standard BLUMOTION arrangement, and locking devices, synchronisation parts and side stabilisation sets are supplied separately. Refer to the individual product page and Blum's fitting information for the exact requirements of your model.

Buying Guide

Work through these points to select the right MOVENTO runner:

  • Opening and closing action: BLUMOTION for soft closing, TIP-ON for mechanical push-to-open on handleless fronts.
  • Nominal length: match to your drawer depth, then check that length is offered in the motion type you have chosen.
  • Verified load rating: confirm 40 kg, 60 kg or 70 kg on the product page for that exact model rather than assuming it from the range.
  • Standard or base fixing: standard runners are concealed beneath the drawer; base-mounted variants are available in 40 kg, 350–500 mm.
  • Locking devices and synchronisation parts: identify which locking devices your drawer needs, and whether wide or twin-unit TIP-ON drawers require synchronisation components.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between MOVENTO BLUMOTION and TIP-ON?

BLUMOTION runners provide soft closing, so the drawer slows and closes quietly under its own momentum. TIP-ON runners provide mechanical push-to-open operation for handleless cabinets: pressing the drawer front releases it to open. TIP-ON is an opening mechanism and does not itself provide soft closing. Both use the MOVENTO concealed running system.

What load rating do MOVENTO runners support?

It depends on the model. The runners stocked here are rated 40 kg, 60 kg or 70 kg nominal. The 40 kg models run from 250 mm to 600 mm and the 70 kg models from 450 mm to 650 mm, while the 700 mm and 750 mm DR766 BLUMOTION and TIP-ON runners are rated 60 kg. Base-mounted variants are stocked in the 40 kg rating. Check the individual product page for the precise rating before ordering.

Are locking devices and stabilisation sets included?

No. Locking devices, depth adjustment pairs, synchronisation parts and side stabilisation sets are supplied separately. What you need depends on the runner and the installation, so check the product page and Blum's fitting information for your model.

Is depth adjustment built in?

Not always. Blum lists depth adjustment as optional for the standard BLUMOTION arrangement, so it depends on the runner and how it is installed. Confirm on the individual product page whether depth adjustment is included or needs to be ordered as a separate component.

What drawer box material is MOVENTO designed for?

MOVENTO runners are designed for wooden drawer boxes, with the runner concealed beneath the drawer. They are not intended for use with metal drawer systems, which use their own dedicated runner types.
