PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Blum CLIP top 170°
Wide-Angle Half-Overlay Hinge - 71T6650
The Blum CLIP top 71T6650 is a sprung, wide-angle concealed hinge for dual or half-overlay cabinet-door applications. Its 170° opening provides excellent access to cabinet interiors, making it particularly useful for corner cabinets, larder units and furniture where a standard opening angle would restrict access.
The half-cranked hinge arm is designed for installations where two doors share a central cabinet partition. Each door partially overlays the dividing panel, providing the clearance required for both neighbouring doors to open correctly.
The 71T6650 does not contain integrated soft-close. Where damped closing is required, the compatible Blum 973A6000 BLUMOTION unit can be clipped onto the hinge separately.

Technical attributes
Mounting plate required
A compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate is required and is sold separately. Mounting-plate height and drilling position should be selected according to the required door overlay and cabinet construction.
Front thickness, drilling distance and the minimum required door gap are related. Blum recommends carrying out a trial application for fronts over 22mm thick rather than relying on a universal maximum door thickness.
Optional soft-close
This is a sprung hinge without integrated damping. Add the purpose-designed Blum 973A6000 clip-on BLUMOTION damper when soft-close operation is required.
Optional opening-angle restriction
Where the full 170° movement is unnecessary, the compatible Blum 70.6103 opening-angle stop reduces the hinge opening to approximately 130°.

Frequently asked questions
What does dual or half overlay mean?
It describes an installation where two neighbouring cabinet doors share a central partition. Each door partially overlays the dividing panel.
Does the 71T6650 include soft-close?
No. It is a sprung hinge without integrated BLUMOTION. The compatible 973A6000 clip-on damper is available separately.
Is a mounting plate included?
No. The hinge is supplied individually and requires a compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate, which is sold separately.
Is the complete installation tool-free?
No. The hinge cup is secured to the door with screws. The tool-free feature applies to connecting and removing the hinge arm from its CLIP mounting plate.
Can the 170° opening angle be reduced?
Yes. The optional Blum 70.6103 opening-angle stop reduces the opening to approximately 130°.
Will this hinge suit a 24mm door?
It may be suitable, but the required gap depends on the front thickness, drilling distance and cabinet arrangement. Blum recommends a trial application for fronts over 22mm thick.
Where is a 170° hinge commonly used?
Wide-angle hinges are frequently used on corner cabinets, larder units and storage cupboards where unrestricted access to the cabinet interior is important. For furniture accessible to young children, Blum advises using a suitable 155° zero-protrusion hinge instead.
