Blum 75T1580 CLIP top 107° Full Overlay Knock-In Hinge

The Blum 75T1580 is a sprung, full-overlay concealed cabinet hinge from the Blum CLIP top range. Its straight hinge arm is designed for overlay doors, while the 107° opening angle provides convenient access for everyday kitchen, bedroom and furniture applications.

This version has a knock-in hinge cup with pre-mounted dowels. It is self-closing but does not include BLUMOTION soft close. The hinge pulls the door into its closed position using an internal spring, giving it a positive and dependable closing action.

Full-overlay cabinet door application

The straight hinge arm is intended for a full-overlay arrangement, where the closed door covers most or all of the cabinet side panel. The final overlay depends on the selected mounting plate height, cup drilling distance and cabinet construction.

Choose a compatible plate from our Blum CLIP mounting plates. The mounting plate is not included with this hinge.

Sprung closing without BLUMOTION

The 75T1580 contains a closing spring that pulls the cabinet door shut. It should not be confused with a BLUMOTION hinge: it provides a firm self-closing action but does not damp the door during the final stage of closing.

If you require integrated soft close, consider the screw-fixed Blum 75B1550 107° BLUMOTION hinge.

Knock-in cup installation

The hinge cup requires a 35mm main bore, 11.5mm deep, together with two 8mm side holes. The side holes have 45mm centres and are positioned 9.5mm from the centreline of the main cup bore.

The pre-mounted dowels are pressed into the prepared holes using a suitable insertion method or hinge-insertion tool. No separate cup-fixing screws are required when the knock-in fixing is used correctly.

This fitting method is different from Blum INSERTA. INSERTA uses an integral lever for tool-free cup installation, whereas knock-in dowels are pressed into accurately prepared holes.

CLIP top fitting and adjustment

The hinge clips onto a compatible Blum mounting plate, allowing the door to be fitted and removed without undoing the mounting screws. Once installed, side, depth and height adjustments help produce even door gaps and accurate alignment.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Blum 75T1580 have soft close?

No. The 75T1580 is sprung and self-closing, but it does not contain a BLUMOTION soft-close damper.

What is the difference between sprung and soft-close hinges?

A sprung hinge pulls the door into its closed position. A soft-close hinge also includes a damping mechanism that slows the door during the final part of closing.

What drilling is required for the 75T1580?

It requires a 35mm cup bore approximately 11.5mm deep, plus two 8mm dowel holes on 45mm centres. The dowel holes are offset 9.5mm from the cup centreline.

Is a knock-in hinge the same as an INSERTA hinge?

No. The knock-in version has pre-mounted dowels that are pressed into prepared holes. INSERTA uses an integral lever for tool-free cup installation.

What door thickness is suitable?

The hinge is designed for fronts starting at 15mm and is normally suitable for doors up to 24mm thick. A trial installation is recommended towards the upper end of this range.

Is the mounting plate included?

No. One hinge is supplied, and a compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate must be ordered separately.

What is the difference between 75T1580 and 75B1550?

The 75T1580 is a sprung knock-in hinge without soft close. The 75B1550 has a screw-fixed cup and integrated BLUMOTION soft close.
