The Blum 171A5040 is a +5° obtuse angled spacer installed beneath selected Blum CLIP cruciform mounting plates. Its wedge-shaped construction changes the mounting-plate angle while providing 3mm nominal spacing for specific angled cabinet-door applications.

Blum specifies the 171A5040 for selected mounting plates in the 173H71X0, 175H71X0 and 175H91X0 families. The “X” represents the spacing variant within each family. This family-level compatibility does not mean that every hinge, plate height and spacer combination produces the same door angle or overlay.
Install the spacer between the cabinet and the compatible mounting plate. Orientation is application-specific, so follow the relevant Blum planning diagram and the directional marking on the spacer. Use fixing screws of sufficient length to pass safely through the mounting plate and spacer into the cabinet material.
