Blum 71T6640B CLIP Top 170°
Half-Overlay INSERTA Hinge
The Blum 71T6640B is a wide-angle, sprung cabinet hinge designed for dual or half-overlay applications where two doors share the same central cabinet partition.
Its 170° opening provides excellent access to wide cabinets, larder units and furniture where the door needs to open substantially farther than a standard 110° hinge.
The sprung closing mechanism draws the door closed. Soft close is not integrated, but the compatible Blum 973A6000 clip-on BLUMOTION unit can be added separately.
Tool-free INSERTA fixing
The INSERTA system secures the hinge cup to the door without conventional fixing screws. The expanding fixings are pressed into the prepared holes and locked into position, providing quick and repeatable installation.
Please note that INSERTA refers to the hinge-to-door fixing. A compatible Blum CLIP top mounting plate is required to attach the hinge to the cabinet.

What drilling is required?
The hinge uses a 35mm cup drilled approximately 11mm deep, with 45mm centres between the INSERTA fixing holes.
Can this hinge be used for an inset door?
It can be planned for an inset application when combined with the appropriate 9mm-spaced mounting plate. Check the cabinet dimensions before ordering.
Can I restrict the opening angle?
Yes. Blum lists the 70.6103 opening-angle stop, which reduces the opening to approximately 130°.
Is this suitable where young children can access the cabinet?
Blum recommends using a 155° zero-protrusion hinge instead where young children have access to furniture fitted with wide-angle hinges.
