Traditionally used on a ledge and braced door, our thumb latch sets include a decorative door latch with a thumb shaped lever. When this lever is pressed down, it operates a thumb bar. The thumb bar passes through the door, lifting the latch bar on the opposite side and allowing the door to open.

  • Our Suffolk latch set is forged from solid brass and hand finished by our expert craftsmen. A perfect design choice for any home, with many matching products available.
  • Thumblatches are typically used in conjunction with a T hinge on traditional plank doors.
  • Maximum door thickness: 44mm.

Polished Brass is a classic, simplistic finish which works well when paired with lighter colours and subtle textural details where a luxurious, more modern look is desired. Manufactured from a base of solid brass with a quality matt lacquer applied to its surface. This finish is designed to avoid discolouration and oxidisation, making it an excellent choice where a low maintenance finish is required and an enduring, bright polished finish is preferable.

Care and maintenance

Regular oiling of all moving parts using our ‘3-in-1 Oil’ (92337) is beneficial to the longevity of your products. This process is also highly recommended during initial installation. Our ‘Maintenance Wax’ (33002) should also be wiped over the product from time to time to form a protective barrier, particularly if the intended use is external or in a porch, bathroom or kitchen.
