PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Easiwood Ash Flexible Veneer Sheet – 2400 x 1200mm
Easiwood Ash Flexible Veneer combines the authentic appearance of genuine Ash timber with a flexible backing designed to make the sheet easier to handle and apply than unsupported traditional veneer.
Ash is valued for its pale cream to light-brown colouring and prominent open grain. It provides a clean natural appearance with plenty of visible timber character, making it suitable for contemporary furniture, cabinetry, fitted interiors, feature panels and bespoke joinery.
The generous 2400 x 1200mm sheet size provides coverage for large furniture and cabinetry components. Its flexible construction makes it particularly useful for flat panels, suitable curved surfaces, radiused edges and shaped interior components.
This veneer is not described as self-adhesive. It must be bonded using a suitable veneer adhesive and application method selected for the veneer, substrate and intended interior environment.

Working with Flexible Ash Veneer
Flexible backing helps the veneer conform more easily to suitable curves and shaped components. The achievable bend depends on the grain direction, radius, substrate and application method. Do not force the sheet around a radius that causes the wood surface to split or distort.
Plan the grain direction before cutting. Ash has a clearly visible grain, so carefully arranging adjoining pieces can improve the appearance of the completed installation.
Surface Preparation and Bonding
The receiving surface must be clean, dry, flat, stable and free from dust, grease and loose material. Select an adhesive that is compatible with genuine wood veneer and the chosen substrate.
Apply the adhesive according to its manufacturer’s instructions, including coverage, open time, pressure and curing requirements. Apply even pressure across the complete sheet to reduce the possibility of bubbles, movement or weak areas.
Create a test piece using the intended veneer, substrate, adhesive and pressing method before beginning the finished component. Allow the bond to cure fully before trimming or finishing.
Trimming and Finishing
Once securely bonded, trim the veneer using a sharp, suitable tool while paying attention to the grain direction. Avoid aggressive sanding because decorative veneer is considerably thinner than solid timber.
The natural Ash surface can be finished with a compatible lacquer, oil, wax, stain or clear interior timber finish. Always test the complete finishing system on an offcut first because it may change the colour and emphasise the open grain.
Ash is a genuine natural material. Colour, grain and figuring will vary between sheets. These variations are normal and help give each finished project an authentic timber appearance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Easiwood Ash made from genuine wood?
Yes. The visible surface is genuine natural Ash veneer rather than a printed or imitation wood-effect material.
What size is the sheet?
The sheet measures 2400mm long by 1200mm wide and is supplied as one sheet.
Is the sheet pre-glued?
No pre-applied adhesive is specified for this product. Use a suitable veneer adhesive chosen for the substrate, application method and intended interior environment.
Can it be applied to MDF?
Yes. It can be bonded to correctly prepared MDF, plywood, chipboard and other stable woodworking substrates using an appropriate veneer adhesive.
Can it be used on curved surfaces?
The flexible backing makes it more suitable for curves and radiused components than many unsupported veneers. The achievable radius depends on the grain direction, substrate and installation method, so test the proposed curve first.
Can Ash veneer be stained or lacquered?
Yes. The natural surface can accept many compatible stains, lacquers, oils and clear finishes. Always test the chosen finishing system on an offcut first.
Will every sheet look identical?
No. Genuine Ash varies naturally in colour, grain and figuring. Check the appearance and grain direction before cutting when several pieces will be used together.
Is this product suitable for exterior use?
This listing is intended for interior furniture, cabinetry and joinery. Do not use it for exterior or continuously damp applications without verified confirmation that the complete veneer, adhesive, substrate and finishing system are suitable.
