PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Wide Low-Tack Precision Masking Tape for Delicate Surfaces
ProDec Advance Low-Tack Precision Masking Tape 48mm × 50m combines gentle adhesion with a wide protective format for accurate decorating on newly painted, delicate and sensitive surfaces.
The premium Japanese rice-paper backing creates an effective barrier along the paint edge, helping prevent paint bleed and produce crisp, sharply defined lines. Its high-technology, low-tack and low-residue adhesive supports smooth application and controlled removal.
At 48mm wide, this tape protects a larger section of the adjoining surface than the 24mm and 36mm versions. It is especially useful around broad skirting boards, architraves, frames, mouldings and other areas where additional coverage can help guard against brush and roller contact.

Application Guidance
- Make sure the surface is smooth, clean, dry and free from dust and grease.
- Test the tape on a small, concealed section of the surface.
- Position the tape carefully without stretching or pulling it.
- Press the paint edge down evenly while keeping the wider protective section flat.
- Apply paint carefully and avoid allowing excess paint to collect against the edge.
- Remove the tape slowly, ideally before the paint has dried.
- Do not leave it in place for more than 24 hours.
Important: Every painted or wallpapered surface can react differently. Low-tack adhesive reduces adhesion, but the tape must still be tested before use.
This tape is not described as UV resistant. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, excessive heat and high-humidity conditions.
Choosing the Correct Width
Choose the 48mm tape when additional coverage is required beside a precise painted edge. It can help protect wider trims and reduce the risk of accidental contact from a brush or roller.
For detailed work in confined areas, choose the ProDec Advance Low-Tack Precision Tape 24mm × 50m.
For a balance between control and coverage, use the ProDec Advance Low-Tack Precision Tape 36mm × 50m.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the advantage of the 48mm-wide tape?
The 48mm width protects more of the adjoining surface than narrower precision tapes. This is useful around broad trim, frames and other areas exposed to brushes or rollers.
Can this tape be used on newly painted surfaces?
Yes. ProDec identifies the low-tack grade as suitable for newly painted and delicate surfaces. Always test a small, inconspicuous area first.
Is the tape suitable for wallpaper?
Wallpaper is included among the manufacturer’s intended applications. Because wallpaper condition and adhesion vary, testing a concealed area is essential.
What is the tape made from?
It is made from easy-tear Japanese rice paper with a high-technology, low-tack and low-residue adhesive.
When should the tape be removed?
Remove the tape carefully before the new paint dries and no later than 24 hours after application.
