PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

ProDec Advance Precision Edge Masking Tape

ProDec Advance Precision Edge Masking Tape 24mm × 50m is a premium yellow decorating tape designed to produce clean, sharply defined paint lines on bare and fully cured surfaces.

Manufactured from easy-tear Japanese rice paper, the tape provides an effective paint barrier that helps minimise paint bleed. Its standard-grade adhesive allows smooth application and controlled release when used in accordance with ProDec’s instructions.

The narrow 24mm width is ideal for detailed masking around trim, mouldings, frames, switches, sockets and other areas where accurate positioning is important.

  4. Position the tape carefully and press the paint edge down evenly.
  5. Apply paint without flooding the edge of the tape.
  6. Remove the tape slowly, ideally before the paint has dried.
  7. Do not leave the tape applied for longer than 24 hours.

Important: This standard-adhesion version is not intended for newly painted or particularly delicate surfaces. Avoid use in high temperatures or prolonged direct sunlight because this product is not identified as UV resistant.

Standard or Low-Tack Precision Tape?

Choose this standard yellow tape for bare surfaces and previously painted surfaces where the coating has fully cured. For newly painted walls, wallpaper or more delicate finishes, consider the ProDec Advance Low-Tack Precision Edge Tape 24mm × 50m.

For additional coverage along wider edges, see the ProDec Advance Standard Precision Edge Tape 36mm × 50m.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is ProDec Precision Edge Tape made from?

It is manufactured from easy-tear Japanese rice paper, which provides an effective paint barrier and helps produce sharply defined painted edges.

What surfaces can the standard-adhesion tape be used on?

ProDec recommends it for clean, smooth surfaces including plaster, wood, metal, glass, mouldings, switches, sockets and previously painted surfaces that have fully cured.

Can it be applied to newly painted walls?

The standard-adhesion tape should only be applied to paint that has fully cured for more than 28 days. Use a suitable low-tack tape for newly painted or delicate surfaces.

How long can ProDec Precision Edge Tape be left in place?

ProDec recommends removing it before the new paint dries and no later than 24 hours after the tape was applied.

What is the difference between standard and low-tack precision tape?

Standard tape is intended for bare and fully cured surfaces. Low-tack tape has reduced adhesion and is the more appropriate choice for recently painted or delicate surfaces.
