Blum 75T1690B CLIP top 107° Half-Overlay INSERTA Hinge
The Blum 75T1690B is a sprung CLIP top concealed hinge for dual or half-overlay cabinet-door applications. Its cranked hinge arm allows two doors to be mounted on opposite sides of the same central cabinet partition while maintaining a practical operating gap between them.
The hinge features Blum’s tool-free INSERTA cup fixing. Once the correct drilling pattern has been prepared, the hinge cup can be secured by closing the integrated INSERTA locking lever - without separate cup-fixing screws.
This model is sprung and self-closing, but it does not include BLUMOTION soft close.

Technical specification
Half-overlay cabinet door application
A half-overlay or dual application is used where two cabinet doors are mounted on opposite sides of the same central partition. Each door covers part of the panel edge, allowing the two fronts to meet neatly at the centre with a consistent gap.
The cranked arm of the 75T1690B provides the geometry required for this arrangement. It should not be substituted with a straight-arm full-overlay hinge without recalculating the door position and overlay.
Tool-free INSERTA cup fixing
INSERTA provides fast, tool-free attachment of the hinge cup to a correctly drilled cabinet door. The cup is placed into the 35mm boring, and the INSERTA lever is closed to expand the two integrated fixings inside the prepared Ø8mm side holes.
The two side holes use Blum’s 45/9.5mm drilling pattern. No separate hinge-cup fixing screws are required. INSERTA is different from knock-in fixing, where dowels are pressed into the holes using the appropriate installation method.
Sprung closing without BLUMOTION
The internal spring pulls the door closed and holds it in the shut position. This is different from BLUMOTION, which uses an additional damping mechanism to slow the door during the final stage of closing.
If integrated soft close is required, consider a compatible Blum CLIP top BLUMOTION hinge for the half-overlay application.
CLIP top fitting and adjustment
The hinge arm clips onto a compatible Blum mounting plate without tools. This allows the door to be removed and refitted without disturbing the adjustment settings.
Side, depth and height adjustments allow the installer to align adjoining doors and produce consistent cabinet gaps. The mounting plate is not included and must be ordered separately from our Blum CLIP top mounting plates.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Blum 75T1690B have soft close?
No. The 75T1690B is sprung and self-closing, but it does not include an integrated BLUMOTION soft-close damper.
What is a half-overlay hinge used for?
It is normally used where two cabinet doors are mounted on opposite sides of the same central partition. Each door covers part of the panel edge.
What drilling is required for the 75T1690B?
It requires a 35mm hinge-cup bore approximately 11.5mm deep, together with two 8mm fixing holes on 45mm centres. The side holes are positioned 9.5mm from the cup centreline.
Is the INSERTA cup fixing tool-free?
Yes. After the correct drilling has been prepared, the hinge cup is secured by closing its integral INSERTA locking lever. Separate cup-fixing screws are not required.
What is the difference between INSERTA and knock-in fixing?
INSERTA uses an integral lever to lock the cup into the prepared holes. Knock-in hinges use dowels that are pressed into the holes using the appropriate installation method.
What door thickness is suitable?
The hinge is suitable for standard cabinet fronts approximately 15–24mm thick. A trial installation is recommended towards the upper end of the range.
Is the mounting plate included?
No. One hinge is supplied, and a compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate must be ordered separately.
What is the difference between 75T1690B and 75T1680?
Both are sprung 107° half-overlay hinges without soft close. The 75T1690B has tool-free INSERTA cup fixing, while the 75T1680 uses a knock-in or press-in dowel cup.
