Blum 71B3580 110° Overlay Knock-In Hinge – Onyx Black

The Blum 71B3580 CLIP top BLUMOTION hinge combines integrated soft-close technology with a premium Onyx Black finish. Its straight hinge arm and 110° opening angle make it ideal for standard overlay kitchen, bedroom and fitted-furniture doors up to 24mm thick.

BLUMOTION is built into the hinge cup to provide a smooth, controlled closing action without a separate soft-close adapter. The damping function can be deactivated on individual hinges when less closing resistance is required for smaller or lighter doors.

This version has a knock-in hinge cup. The expanding dowels fit into two prepared 8mm fixing holes positioned alongside the 35mm cup drilling. Suitable Blum insertion equipment should be used to press the hinge securely into the door.

Installation requirements

Drill one 35mm hinge-cup hole to a depth of 13mm, together with two 8mm fixing holes on 45mm centres. The permitted cup drilling distance is 3–7mm, depending on the required overlay, cabinet construction and door clearance.

Press the knock-in cup into the prepared door using suitable Blum insertion equipment. Once fitted, the hinge arm clips onto a compatible mounting plate without tools using the Blum CLIP mechanism.

Please note: this product is supplied as one hinge only. The mounting plate must be ordered separately, and the correct plate height should be selected for the required overlay.

Is a mounting plate included?

No. HIO71B3580 is supplied as one hinge. A compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate must be ordered separately.

What does knock-in mean?

Knock-in describes the door-side hinge-cup fixing. Two expanding dowels fit into prepared 8mm holes beside the 35mm cup drilling. Suitable insertion equipment is recommended.

Is installation completely tool-free?

No. The knock-in cup requires accurately prepared holes and suitable insertion equipment. Only the CLIP connection between the hinge arm and mounting plate is tool-free.

Can the BLUMOTION soft close be switched off?

Yes. BLUMOTION can be deactivated on individual hinges when reduced damping is needed, particularly with smaller or lighter doors.

What is the maximum door thickness?

This standard 110° hinge is recommended for cabinet doors up to 24mm thick. Always verify the drilling position, door profile and required clearance before production installation.

Can the opening angle be reduced?

Yes. The compatible Blum 70T3553 opening-angle stop reduces the opening angle from 110° to approximately 86°.
