Blum CLIP top BLUMOTION 110° Overlay Screw-On Hinge – Onyx Black

The Blum 71B3550 CLIP top BLUMOTION hinge combines dependable concealed-hinge performance with a contemporary Onyx Black finish. It is designed for standard full-overlay cabinet doors, where the closed door covers the front edge of the cabinet side.

Its straight hinge arm creates the geometry required for a full-overlay application, while the practical 110° opening angle provides convenient access to kitchen cupboards, bedroom furniture, fitted cabinets and general storage units.

Integrated BLUMOTION soft close

Blum's BLUMOTION technology is integrated inside the hinge cup, producing a smooth, quiet and controlled closing movement without requiring a separate soft-close adapter. The BLUMOTION function can be deactivated on individual hinges when necessary, helping achieve the correct closing action on smaller or lightweight cabinet doors.

Traditional screw-on cup fixing

This version uses a screw-on hinge cup. The cup fits into a correctly prepared 35mm boring and is secured through the two flange fixing holes. Screw-on installation is particularly useful for replacement work, traditional cabinet production and doors where a mechanical screw fixing is preferred.

The hinge connects to a compatible Blum mounting plate using the proven CLIP mechanism. This allows the door to be attached or removed without loosening the adjustment screws, making installation and subsequent cabinet maintenance considerably easier.

This product is supplied as one hinge only. Hinge-cup fixing screws and the separate Blum CLIP mounting plate must be ordered separately. Select the mounting-plate height according to the required overlay, door thickness, cabinet construction and boring distance.

Important: “Screw-on” describes how the 35mm hinge cup is fixed to the cabinet door. The separate mounting plate may have screw-on, EXPANDO, system-screw or knock-in fixings depending on the selected plate.

What is a full-overlay cabinet hinge?

A full-overlay hinge is used when the closed cabinet door covers the front edge of the cabinet side. The straight hinge arm on the Blum 71B3550 is intended for this application.

Does this hinge include a mounting plate?

No. The hinge is supplied individually, and a compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate must be ordered separately.

What does screw-on mean?

It means the 35mm hinge cup is secured to the back of the cabinet door using screws through the hinge flange. It does not describe the fixing method used by the mounting plate.

Can the BLUMOTION function be switched off?

The hinge requires a 35mm-diameter cup boring approximately 13mm deep. The screw-fixing positions have 45mm centres, and the permitted cup boring distance is 3–7mm.

Is this the same as the 71B3590 INSERTA hinge?

No. Both provide a 110° full-overlay application with integrated BLUMOTION, but the 71B3550 uses screw-on cup fixing. The 71B3590 uses Blum’s tool-free INSERTA fixing system.
