The Blum AVENTOS HK-XS 20K1501T TIP-ON lift set is the strongest mechanical push-to-open mechanism in the HK-XS range, specified for applications with a power factor of 800–1600 LF. It is designed for compact handleless wall cabinets, fitted units and over-refrigerator storage where a stronger single-piece front needs controlled upward movement without a conventional handle.

HK-XS uses little cabinet space. Pressing the closed front activates the separately planned TIP-ON unit; the front can then be opened and held at a convenient position. Correct power-factor selection, compatible unsprung hinges and accurate installation are essential.

Strongest HK-XS TIP-ON power class
The 20K1501T is the strongest of the three HK-XS TIP-ON mechanisms. It sits above the 20K1101T 180–800 and 20K1301T 500–1200 versions. The power-factor ranges overlap deliberately, so follow Blum’s advice to choose the stronger mechanism in an overlap and trial applications near a boundary.

This is a mechanical TIP-ON version for handleless fronts. It is not the standard 20K1501 mechanism and it does not contain BLUMOTION soft close. Blum’s TIP-ON arrangement uses compatible unsprung CLIP top hinges so a self-closing hinge spring does not oppose the push-to-open action.

Calculate power factor correctly
The verified 800–1600 figure is Blum’s power-factor range, abbreviated LF. It is not a weight in grams. Calculate LF by multiplying cabinet height in millimetres by complete front weight in kilograms. Use the finished front weight, including fitted components, and check the result against current Blum planning information.

The lift mechanism is symmetrical. Suitable applications may use one mechanism on either cabinet side. When mechanisms are installed on both sides, Blum states that the power factor is doubled. A second mechanism must be planned as part of the complete application rather than added to compensate for an incorrectly selected front.

Planning dimensions and movement
Blum specifies AVENTOS HK-XS for cabinet heights from 240–600mm. The normal minimum internal cabinet depth is 125mm. A depth of 100mm can be possible with Blum’s special drilling position, but it must be planned from the official drilling information.

The nominal mechanism opening angle is 105°. A hinge with a smaller opening angle will limit the actual opening. Check ceilings, cornices and neighbouring fronts before drilling. Correct selection and adjustment provide light operation and a variable stopping position.

Compatible components
A complete HK-XS TIP-ON application requires the correct cabinet fixing, front bracket, TIP-ON unit, unsprung hinges and mounting plates. Blum lists 20K5101 screw-on or 20K51E1 EXPANDO cabinet fixing. Front-fixing options include 20K4101 screw-on, 20K41E1 EXPANDO and 20K4101A for narrow aluminium frames.

For cabinets up to 600mm high, Blum specifies a short 956-series TIP-ON unit with magnet. Its catch plate and fixing method must suit the front surface; self-adhesive catch plates are unsuitable for powder-coated, waxed or oiled surfaces. The set contents are not expressly confirmed by the product record — do not assume components are included. A separate TIP-ON catch is required and is not included.
