Blum CLIP top BLUMOTION 110° Overlay Knock-In Hinge – Onyx Black

The Blum 71B3580 CLIP top BLUMOTION hinge combines a premium Onyx Black finish with Blum's integrated soft-close technology. Its 110° opening angle and straight hinge arm make it suitable for standard overlay cabinet-door applications.

BLUMOTION is built into the hinge cup, producing a smooth and controlled closing action without requiring a separate soft-close adapter. The BLUMOTION function can be deactivated on individual hinges when used with smaller or lighter doors.

This version has a knock-in hinge cup. Installation requires one 35mm cup drilling and two 8mm fixing holes on 45mm centres. The hinge is normally pressed into the prepared door using suitable Blum insertion equipment.

Installation requirements

Bore a 35mm hinge-cup hole to a depth of 13mm, together with two 8mm fixing holes positioned on 45mm centres. The cup drilling distance can be set between 3mm and 7mm according to the door, cabinet and overlay requirements.

The knock-in cup should be pressed into the prepared door using appropriate insertion equipment. Once installed, the hinge connects to a compatible Blum mounting plate using the tool-free CLIP mechanism.

Please note: the mounting plate is not supplied with this hinge. Select the correct plate height and fixing method for the required cabinet construction and door overlay.

Is a mounting plate included?

No. HIO71B3580 is supplied as one hinge only. A compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate must be ordered separately.

What does knock-in mean?

Knock-in describes the door-side hinge-cup fixing. The hinge has expanding dowels that fit into two prepared 8mm holes alongside the 35mm cup drilling. Suitable insertion equipment is recommended.

Is the complete hinge installation tool-free?

No. The knock-in cup requires prepared holes and appropriate insertion equipment. After installation, the hinge clips onto its mounting plate without tools using Blum's CLIP mechanism.

Can the BLUMOTION soft close be switched off?

Yes. Integrated BLUMOTION can be deactivated on individual hinges where reduced damping is required, particularly on smaller or lighter cabinet doors.

Can the opening angle be reduced?

Yes. The compatible Blum 70T3553 opening-angle stop reduces the opening angle from 110° to approximately 86°.

What drilling pattern is required?

The hinge requires a 35mm cup hole, 13mm deep, plus two 8mm fixing holes on 45mm centres. The permitted cup drilling distance is 3–7mm.
