PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Blum 75T1790B CLIP top 107° Inset INSERTA Hinge
The Blum 75T1790B is a sprung CLIP top concealed hinge for inset cabinet doors. Its inset-cranked arm positions the closed door within the cabinet opening, producing a clean framed appearance with a visible operating gap around the door.
The hinge uses Blum’s tool-free INSERTA cup fixing. Once the correct drilling pattern has been prepared, the hinge cup can be secured without conventional cup-fixing screws. The internal spring pulls the door closed, but the hinge does not include BLUMOTION soft-close damping.

Technical specification
Inset cabinet-door application
An inset door closes within the cabinet opening instead of covering the front edges of the cabinet sides. This style provides a neat framed appearance but requires accurate door sizing, drilling and adjustment.
The inset-cranked arm positions the door behind the front edge of the cabinet. Blum’s standard planning information uses the door thickness plus 1.5mm as the basic mounting-plate setback reference for an inset application.
The final position should also allow for the cup drilling distance, selected mounting plate, front edge profile and required operating gap.
Tool-free INSERTA cup fixing
The 75T1790B requires a 35mm cup bore approximately 11.5mm deep, together with two accurately positioned 8mm side holes. The side holes are arranged on 45mm centres and offset 9.5mm from the centreline of the main cup bore.
Place the hinge cup into the prepared drilling and close the integral INSERTA lever. The locking elements expand inside the side holes and secure the cup without separate fixing screws.
The lever can be reopened if the hinge needs to be removed or transferred. For accurate repeat drilling, consider the Blum 65.059A EXPANDO and INSERTA drilling template.
Sprung closing without soft close
The hinge contains a closing spring that pulls the door into the shut position. This makes it suitable for conventionally operated cabinet doors fitted with handles or finger pulls.
A closing spring does not provide soft-close damping. For an inset door with integrated BLUMOTION, select a compatible 75B1750 screw-on or 75B1780 knock-in hinge instead.
CLIP top mounting and adjustment
The hinge arm clips onto a compatible Blum mounting plate, allowing the cabinet door to be attached or removed without undoing the plate screws. This CLIP connection is separate from the INSERTA mechanism that secures the hinge cup to the door.
The mounting plate is not included. Browse our Blum CLIP mounting plates to choose the appropriate fixing method and plate height.
Side, depth and height adjustment help centre the door accurately within the cabinet opening. The spiral adjustment screw provides controlled depth adjustment, while available height adjustment depends on the mounting plate selected.
Choosing between INSERTA, knock-in and screw-on
Choose the 75T1790B when tool-free hinge-cup attachment is required. For press-in production assembly, use the Blum 75T1780 knock-in inset hinge.
For a conventional screw-fixed cup, use the Blum 75T1750 screw-on inset hinge.
For handleless push-to-open doors using Blum TIP-ON, use the Blum 74T1790BTL unsprung INSERTA hinge.

Frequently asked questions
What is the correct Blum part number?
The manufacturer part number is 75T1790B. HI751790 is Hart Wholesale’s internal stock code and should not be used as the MPN.
Does the Blum 75T1790B have soft close?
No. The hinge is sprung and self-closing, but it does not contain an integrated BLUMOTION soft-close damper.
What drilling is required for the 75T1790B?
It requires a 35mm cup bore approximately 11.5mm deep, together with two 8mm fixing holes on 45mm centres. The side holes are offset 9.5mm from the cup centreline.
Is the INSERTA cup fixing tool-free?
Yes. Once the correct drilling has been prepared, the hinge cup is secured by closing its integral INSERTA locking lever. Separate cup-fixing screws are not required.
What door thickness is suitable?
The hinge is suitable for standard cabinet fronts approximately 15–24mm thick. It is not specifically a 10–16mm thin-door hinge.
Is the mounting plate included?
No. One hinge is supplied, and a compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate must be ordered separately.
What is the difference between 75T1790B and 75T1780?
Both are sprung 107° inset hinges without soft close. The 75T1790B has tool-free INSERTA cup fixing, while the 75T1780 uses a knock-in or press-in dowel cup.
What is the difference between 75T1790B and 74T1790BTL?
The 75T1790B is sprung and pulls the door closed. The 74T1790BTL is unsprung and is intended for applications such as handleless TIP-ON doors.
