The Blum 71T9750 CLIP top hinge is a sprung 95° inset hinge developed for thick cabinet doors and doors with decorative profiles. Its fully cranked arm positions the closed door inside the cabinet opening, while its specialised hinge geometry helps provide the clearance required by thicker door edges, mouldings and raised profiles.

This is a mechanically sprung, self-closing hinge. The spring pulls the door towards its closed position, but the hinge does not contain integrated BLUMOTION soft close. Choose the 71B9750 version when an integrated damping mechanism is required.

Designed for inset applications

An inset door closes inside the cabinet opening rather than overlapping the cabinet side. The fully cranked arm of the 71T9750 provides the geometry required for this application.

Accurate positioning is especially important with inset doors because the mounting-plate position, door thickness and cup drilling distance all affect the finished perimeter gap. The mounting plate must be positioned according to Blum’s inset planning information rather than fitted using a standard overlay position.

Planning a thick or profiled door

Blum’s planning tables cover fronts from 16mm to 32mm thick. However, nominal door thickness alone does not confirm compatibility. A raised moulding, rounded edge or projecting profile can alter the space required as the door opens.

Check the complete cross-section of the door and allow the minimum operating gap specified by Blum. A trial installation is recommended for heavily moulded doors, unusual edge profiles and applications near the upper end of the planning range.

This hinge is intended for compatible timber, MDF, chipboard and similar furniture fronts drilled for a 35mm concealed-hinge cup. It is not an aluminium-frame-door hinge.

Sprung closing without integrated soft close

The internal spring pulls the door towards the cabinet as it closes. This provides a positive self-closing action but does not slow the door in the same way as BLUMOTION.

If integrated soft closing is required, choose the Blum 71B9750 CLIP top BLUMOTION hinge. Blum advises against mixing standard CLIP top and CLIP top BLUMOTION hinges on the same door.

Screw-on cup and separate mounting plate

The term “screw-on” refers to the two-screw fixing used to secure the hinge cup to the door. It does not refer to the mounting plate.

A compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate must be selected separately according to the cabinet construction, fixing method and required inset position. The product is supplied as one hinge; the mounting plate and fixing screws are not included.
