Blum CLIP top 94° Mini Overlay Screw-On Hinge 71T0550

The Blum CLIP top 71T0550 is a sprung 94° mini concealed hinge for overlay cabinet doors. Its compact 26mm hinge cup makes it suitable for small doors and doors with narrow timber frames where a conventional 35mm cup hinge cannot be accommodated.

A straight hinge arm provides the geometry for an overlay application, while Blum’s CLIP connection allows the completed door to be attached to or removed from a compatible mounting plate without tools.

Designed for narrow frames and small doors

The 26mm cup requires considerably less boring width than a standard 35mm concealed hinge. This makes the 71T0550 particularly useful for narrow-framed cabinet doors, small kitchen and furniture doors, display cabinets, bathroom furniture, compact storage cabinets, and replacement applications requiring a 26mm hinge cup. The cabinet construction, door dimensions and material must still provide sufficient support around the hinge-cup boring.

Sprung closing action

The 71T0550 contains a closing spring that pulls the cabinet door into its closed position. It does not have integrated BLUMOTION soft close. Suitable external BLUMOTION damping can be added separately where required.

This distinction is important: a sprung hinge provides self-closing movement, while BLUMOTION adds controlled damping during the final stage of closing.

Screw-on hinge-cup fixing

The 26mm hinge cup is installed into a correctly prepared bore in the back of the door and secured with suitable screws through the cup flange. “Screw-on” describes the door-side hinge-cup fixing. It does not describe the separate cabinet-side mounting plate.

Once fitted to the door, the hinge connects to the mounting plate using Blum’s tool-free CLIP mechanism. A third locating pin in the hinge arm helps provide a stable connection to the mounting plate.

Mounting plate and optional damping

A compatible cabinet-side Blum CLIP mounting plate is required and sold separately. The mounting-plate spacing and hinge-cup drilling distance determine the resulting door overlay and gap. Check the Blum planning information before production drilling.
