The Blum 71B453T CLIP top BLUMOTION hinge is designed for thin cabinet doors and furniture fronts measuring approximately 8–14mm thick. Its specialist EXPANDO T fixing system allows the hinge to be securely fitted without drilling a conventional 35mm hinge-cup recess.

Finished in contemporary Onyx Black, this hinge is particularly well suited to dark cabinetry, glass-fronted furniture and premium interiors where conventional nickel-plated hardware would remain visible.

Integrated BLUMOTION provides a controlled, quiet closing action directly within the hinge arm. The damping function can be switched off on individual hinges when required, helping to achieve the correct closing movement on smaller or lighter doors.

Designed for thin cabinet fronts

Standard concealed hinges normally require a deep 35mm cup hole. This can be unsuitable for thin fronts because there may not be enough material to accommodate the hinge cup safely.

EXPANDO T uses two expanding fixings that are inserted into the prepared fixing holes and tightened with screws. This securely clamps the hinge to a suitable thin front without conventional hinge-cup drilling.

Blum lists EXPANDO T for sufficiently strong and stable materials including chipboard, MDF, HDF, HPL, mineral composites, quartz composite, suitable natural stone and ceramic panels. A trial installation is recommended where the strength or suitability of the chosen material is uncertain.
