PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

2000 × 76mm Heavy-Duty Satin Stainless Steel Continuous Hinge

This heavy-duty continuous door hinge measures 2000mm long and 76mm wide when fully open. Manufactured from stainless steel with a satin finish, it provides continuous support along the door edge rather than concentrating movement at several separate hinge positions.

The hinge is designed for appropriately specified heavy doors, with a declared maximum adjusted door weight of 200kg. It has 40 fixing holes and requires suitable 5mm-diameter countersunk screws, which must be ordered separately.

Its continuous construction is particularly useful where finger entrapment must be considered, including nurseries, schools, care settings and other public buildings. When correctly specified and installed, the design can provide finger protection on the pull side of the door.

The hinge is declared as CP Grade 4, CE marked and BS EN 1935 Grade 14. Suitability depends on the complete doorset, door dimensions, installation, fixings, usage and environmental conditions.

Supplied as one complete 2000mm hinge. The stainless-steel grade is not confirmed and must not be advertised as Grade 304 or marine grade.

Finger-protection applications

A continuous hinge closes the gap along the hinged edge differently from conventional individual hinges. This makes it suitable for installations where pull-side finger entrapment needs to be addressed. The complete doorset must still be professionally assessed for safety and compliance.

Installation guidance

  1. Confirm that the hinge, door, frame and declared door weight are compatible.
  2. Support and align the complete hinge before marking fixing positions.
  3. Use suitable 5mm-diameter countersunk screws for the door and frame materials.
  4. Fit all required fixings evenly along the hinge.
  5. Select corrosion-compatible fixings for the installation environment.
  6. Check door clearances, alignment and free movement.
  7. Test the complete doorset before use.

Fixing screws must be ordered separately. Professional specification and installation are recommended for heavy doors and safety-critical applications.

Questions and answers

What size is this continuous hinge?

It measures 2000mm long and 76mm wide when fully open. Its closed projection or depth is 12mm.

Is the hinge heavy duty?

Yes. It is described as a heavy-duty continuous hinge with a declared maximum adjusted door weight of 200kg.

Does the hinge support a 200kg door in every installation?

No. The 200kg figure is the declared maximum adjusted door weight. Door dimensions, construction, usage, frame strength and fixings must also be assessed.

How many fixing holes does it have?

There are 40 fixing holes in each complete hinge.

What fixings are required?

Use suitable 5mm-diameter countersunk screws selected for the door, frame and installation environment.

Are fixing screws included?

No. The required countersunk screws must be ordered separately.

Can it help protect fingers?

Yes. When correctly specified and installed, the continuous design can provide finger protection on the pull side of a door.

What does BS EN 1935 Grade 14 mean?

It is the declared hinge classification. It does not remove the need to assess the complete doorset, fixings and intended usage.

What grade of stainless steel is used?

The specific stainless-steel grade is not confirmed and must not be advertised as Grade 304 or marine grade.

Is this an anti-ligature hinge?

No anti-ligature classification is confirmed. It should be described as a heavy-duty continuous hinge suitable for pull-side finger-protection applications.

Is it fire-door rated?

No standalone fire-door approval is confirmed. Fire-door use requires evidence covering the complete compatible doorset and installation.
