PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The ExiSound Concealex A8100 Superior is an automatic drop seal designed to recess centrally into the bottom of a door. This 330 mm version has a satin anodised aluminium casing and a self-levelling, sound-insulating TPE seal. Check the door construction, available routing space and required finished length before ordering.

Choosing and fitting the seal

This recessed model requires a 14 mm wide × 35 mm deep slot in the bottom of the door. Follow the model’s fitting instructions for the endplates, plunger position and adjustment. Test information

The manufacturer's A8100 Superior brochure reports fire testing for 30 and 60 minutes to BS EN 1634-1:2014 and acoustic testing up to 44 dB to BS EN ISO 10140-2:2010. CERTIFIRE certificate CF5785 covers smoke-sealing use within its stated door-assembly and installation conditions. These figures do not automatically give an installed door assembly a fire or acoustic rating.

Frequently asked questions

Does this seal fit without routing the door?

No. The A8100 Superior is recessed into a prepared slot in the door bottom. A face-fix model uses a different fitting method.

How is the plunger positioned?

Follow the model's fitting instructions for plunger position and adjustment before preparing the door.

Is this an intumescent strip?

No. CERTIFIRE CF5785 states that the Concealex drop seals contain no intumescent material. Check the complete door assembly's requirements before specifying a seal.

Will this seal make my door FD30 or FD60 rated?

No. Product test information does not establish a rating for an untested door assembly. Check the applicable doorset evidence and certificate conditions.
