PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Woodleaf Ash Pre-Glued Wood Veneer Sheet – 2500 x 255mm
Create a light natural-wood finish with clearly defined grain using this Woodleaf Ash Pre-Glued Wood Veneer Sheet. Measuring 2500mm long by 255mm wide, it is suitable for covering narrow furniture panels, cabinet components, drawer fronts, plinths, trims and repair sections.
Ash is recognised for its pale cream to light-brown colouring and prominent natural grain. It offers a clean contemporary appearance while retaining plenty of genuine timber character, making it suitable for furniture, cabinetry, fitted interiors and decorative joinery.
This HM version has a factory-applied heat-activated adhesive backing. It does not normally require a separate wet adhesive and can be applied using appropriate controlled heating and pressing equipment or a suitable veneer iron.
The 2500mm length is useful for long furniture and cabinetry components. The 255mm width provides substantially more coverage than conventional edging tape while remaining easier to position than a full-size veneer sheet.

Application Guidance
Ensure the receiving surface is clean, dry, flat, smooth and free from dust, grease or loose material. Measure the component and position the veneer carefully before activating the adhesive.
Check the colour and grain direction before bonding. Ash can display strong grain patterns, so arrange separate pieces beforehand when a consistent visual flow is required across adjoining components.
Apply controlled, even heat and firm pressure progressively across the veneer. Avoid holding the heat source in one position for too long. Work methodically to reduce the possibility of movement, trapped air or uneven bonding.
Allow the adhesive to cool completely before trimming the edges or carrying out further finishing work. Heating time, pressure and temperature can vary according to the equipment and substrate, so test the process on a small or spare section first.
After bonding, carefully trim the veneer while paying attention to the grain direction. Lightly prepare the surface for a compatible lacquer, oil, wax, stain or clear timber finish. Always test the complete finishing system on an offcut first.
Ash is a genuine natural material. Colour, grain and figuring will vary between sheets. These variations are part of the character of real wood and should not be considered defects.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this genuine Ash veneer?
Yes. The visible surface is genuine Ash wood veneer rather than a printed or imitation wood-effect finish.
What does HM mean?
HM identifies the heat-activated adhesive backing. The adhesive is activated using controlled heat and firm, even pressure during application.
What size is the veneer sheet?
The sheet measures 2500mm long by 255mm wide. Allow sufficient material for positioning and final trimming when planning the project.
Can it be applied to MDF?
It can be applied to suitable MDF, plywood, chipboard and similar stable substrates, provided the surface is clean, dry, flat and correctly prepared.
Do I need to apply a separate adhesive?
No separate wet adhesive is normally required because the sheet has a factory-applied heat-activated backing. Correct heat and pressure are required to activate the bond.
What colour is Ash veneer?
Ash veneer commonly has pale cream, light beige or light-brown colouring with a clearly visible natural grain. The exact colour and markings vary between sheets.
Can Ash veneer be stained?
It can be finished with a compatible stain, lacquer, oil, wax or clear timber finish. Its visible grain can respond strongly to stain, so always test the finish on an offcut first.
Can it be used for furniture restoration?
Yes. It can be used to repair or update appropriately prepared indoor furniture panels where the dimensions, Ash appearance and heat-application method are suitable.
Will every sheet look identical?
No. Genuine Ash varies naturally in colour, grain and figuring. Check the orientation and appearance before cutting when several pieces will be used together.
