PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Woodleaf Maple Pre-Glued Wood Veneer Sheet – 2500 x 255mm

Create a clean, light natural-wood finish on furniture, cabinetry and interior joinery with this Woodleaf Maple Pre-Glued Wood Veneer Sheet. Measuring 2500mm long by 255mm wide, it provides a practical format for covering narrow panels, cabinet components, plinths, drawer fronts, furniture parts and repair sections.

The genuine maple surface has the pale colouring and refined grain associated with maple timber. Its understated appearance works particularly well in modern furniture, fitted interiors, display units and cabinetry where a clean and contemporary natural-wood finish is required.

This HM version has a factory-applied heat-activated adhesive backing. It does not normally require a separate wet adhesive and can be applied using appropriate controlled heating and pressing equipment or a suitable veneer iron.

The 2500mm length is useful for long cabinet and furniture components, while the 255mm width provides considerably more coverage than conventional edging tape. This makes it suitable for narrow panels and components that do not require a full-size veneer sheet.

Application Guidance

Ensure the receiving surface is clean, dry, flat, smooth and free from dust, grease or loose material. Measure the component and position the veneer carefully before activating the adhesive.

Apply controlled, even heat and firm pressure progressively across the veneer. Avoid holding the heat source in one position for too long. Work methodically to reduce the possibility of movement, trapped air or uneven bonding.

Allow the adhesive to cool completely before trimming the edges or carrying out further finishing work. Application temperature, pressure and heating time can vary depending on the equipment and substrate, so test the process on a small or spare section first.

After bonding, the veneer can be carefully trimmed and lightly prepared for a compatible lacquer, oil, stain or clear timber finish where required. Test the selected finishing product first because some finishes may darken or alter the pale colour of maple.

Maple is a genuine natural material. Grain pattern, colour and figuring will vary between sheets. These variations are part of the character of real wood and should not be considered defects.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this genuine maple veneer?

Yes. The visible surface is genuine maple wood veneer. Natural differences in colour and grain should therefore be expected.

What does HM mean?

HM identifies the heat-activated adhesive backing. The adhesive is activated using controlled heat and firm, even pressure during application.

What size is the veneer sheet?

The sheet measures 2500mm long by 255mm wide. Check the required coverage and allow sufficient material for positioning and final trimming.

Can it be applied to MDF?

It can be applied to suitable MDF, plywood, chipboard and similar stable substrates, provided the surface is clean, dry, flat and correctly prepared.

Do I need to apply a separate adhesive?

No separate wet adhesive is normally required because the veneer has a factory-applied heat-activated backing. Correct heat and pressure are required to activate the bond.

Is maple suitable for modern furniture?

Yes. Maple’s pale colouring and subtle grain make it particularly suitable for modern furniture, contemporary cabinetry, fitted interiors and clean architectural joinery.

Can it be used for furniture repairs?

Yes. It can be used to repair or update appropriately prepared furniture panels and components where the dimensions, maple appearance and heat-application method are suitable.

Can maple veneer be lacquered or stained?

The natural maple surface can be finished with a compatible timber lacquer, oil, stain or clear finish. Always test the finish first because maple’s pale colour can be noticeably altered by some products.
