PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Woodleaf American Black Walnut Pre-Glued Veneer Sheet – 2500 x 255mm
Create a rich, sophisticated natural-wood finish with this Woodleaf American Black Walnut Pre-Glued Veneer Sheet. Measuring 2500mm long by 255mm wide, it is ideal for covering narrow furniture panels, cabinet components, drawer fronts, plinths, trims and decorative feature sections.
American Black Walnut is valued for its warm brown colouring and attractive natural grain. Its appearance can range from lighter tan and warm mid-brown tones to deeper chocolate brown, making it a popular choice for high-quality furniture, fitted interiors and architectural joinery.
This HM version has a factory-applied heat-activated adhesive backing. It does not normally require a separate wet adhesive and can be applied using appropriate controlled heating and pressing equipment or a suitable veneer iron.
The 2500mm length is useful for long furniture and cabinetry components. The 255mm width provides substantially more coverage than conventional edging tape while remaining easier to position than a full-size veneer sheet.

Application Guidance
Ensure the receiving surface is clean, dry, flat, smooth and free from dust, grease or loose material. Measure the component and position the veneer carefully before activating the adhesive.
Check the colour, grain direction and placement before bonding. If several pieces will be installed together, arrange them beforehand to achieve the most suitable visual flow between the components.
Apply controlled, even heat and firm pressure progressively across the veneer. Avoid holding the heat source in one position for too long. Work methodically to reduce the possibility of movement, trapped air or uneven bonding.
Allow the adhesive to cool completely before trimming the edges or carrying out further finishing work. Heating time, pressure and temperature can vary according to the equipment and substrate, so test the process on a small or spare section first.
After bonding, carefully trim the veneer and lightly prepare the surface for a compatible lacquer, oil, stain or clear timber finish. Always test the chosen finish because clear coatings and oils can deepen the natural colour of walnut.
American Black Walnut is a genuine natural material. Colour, grain and figuring will vary between sheets and may include both lighter and darker areas. These variations are part of the character of real wood.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this genuine American Black Walnut veneer?
Yes. The visible surface is genuine American Black Walnut veneer rather than a printed or imitation wood-effect finish.
What does HM mean?
HM identifies the heat-activated adhesive backing. The adhesive is activated using controlled heat and firm, even pressure during application.
What size is the veneer sheet?
The sheet measures 2500mm long by 255mm wide. Allow sufficient material for positioning and final trimming when planning the project.
Can it be applied to MDF?
It can be applied to suitable MDF, plywood, chipboard and similar stable substrates, provided the surface is clean, dry, flat and correctly prepared.
Do I need to apply a separate adhesive?
No separate wet adhesive is normally required because the sheet has a factory-applied heat-activated backing. Correct heat and pressure are required to activate the bond.
What colour is American Black Walnut?
American Black Walnut commonly ranges from warm tan and mid-brown shades to deeper chocolate brown. Colour and grain vary naturally between individual sheets.
Can it be used for furniture restoration?
Yes. It is suitable for repairing or updating appropriately prepared furniture panels where the dimensions, walnut appearance and heat-application method are suitable.
Can walnut veneer be lacquered or oiled?
The surface can be finished with a compatible clear lacquer, oil, stain or other suitable timber finish. Test the finish first because it may deepen the natural walnut colour.
Will every sheet look identical?
No. Genuine American Black Walnut varies naturally in colour, grain and figuring. Check the orientation and appearance before cutting when several pieces will be used together.
