Blum 70T9590BTL CLIP top 95° Thick-Door Hinge

The Blum 70T9590BTL is an unsprung CLIP top overlay hinge designed for thick furniture doors and doors with decorative profiles. Its restricted 95° opening geometry provides additional clearance for fronts where a conventional 110° hinge may cause the door edge or profile to contact the cabinet.

This version combines a straight overlay hinge arm with Blum's tool-free INSERTA hinge-cup fixing and an Onyx black finish for dark furniture interiors.

Important: this hinge is unsprung. It does not pull the door closed and does not contain integrated BLUMOTION. It is primarily intended for handleless doors using a correctly selected TIP-ON unit or for specialist hinge configurations planned by the cabinet manufacturer.

What does unsprung mean?

An unsprung hinge contains no closing spring. It allows the door to move freely but will not pull it into the closed position.

Can this hinge be used with TIP-ON?

Yes. Unsprung hinges are commonly selected for handleless doors using Blum TIP-ON mechanical opening assistance. The TIP-ON unit must be selected and positioned separately.

Does this hinge have soft close?

No. It has neither integrated BLUMOTION nor self-closing spring action. For a straightforward soft-close installation, use the 71B9590 Onyx hinge with integrated BLUMOTION.

Can I simply add a BLUMOTION adapter?

A BLUMOTION damper only controls closing speed; it does not provide the closing force missing from an unsprung hinge. Use the integrated-BLUMOTION version unless the entire hinge arrangement has been professionally planned.

What is INSERTA fixing?

INSERTA is Blum's tool-free hinge-cup fixing system. The hinge cup is inserted into the prepared drilling pattern and secured using the integrated locking mechanism.

Is the mounting plate included?

No. A compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate must be ordered separately.

What door thickness is supported?

Blum provides planning information for front thicknesses from 16mm up to 32mm. The required operating gap increases on thicker or more heavily profiled fronts.

Can CLIP top and CLIP top BLUMOTION hinges be mixed on one door?

No. Blum advises that standard CLIP top and CLIP top BLUMOTION hinges should not be combined on the same door.
