Blum 70T9650.TL CLIP top 95° Thick-Door Half-Overlay TIP-ON Hinge – Onyx Black

The Blum 70T9650.TL CLIP top hinge is an unsprung, free-moving concealed hinge for thick or profiled cabinet doors in a dual or half-overlay application. Its Onyx Black finish complements dark cabinetry and handleless furniture designs.

This hinge has no closing spring and no integrated BLUMOTION. Its free-moving action makes it particularly suitable for handleless doors operated by a compatible Blum TIP-ON unit.

Designed for TIP-ON handleless doors

Unlike a conventional sprung hinge, the 70T9650.TL does not pull the cabinet door closed. This allows a suitable TIP-ON ejector to push the door open without working against the hinge spring.

A compatible TIP-ON door unit with magnet is required to create a complete push-to-open installation. The TIP-ON mechanism, magnet and mounting plate are not included with the hinge.

This product should not be described as a soft-close hinge. For integrated soft closing, choose the corresponding Blum 71B9650 CLIP top BLUMOTION hinge.

Half-overlay application

A half-overlay hinge is generally used where two cabinet doors share the same central cabinet partition. Each closed door covers approximately half of the cabinet side.

The final overlay depends on the door thickness, hinge-cup drilling distance, mounting-plate height and hinge adjustment.

Suitable for thick and profiled doors

The specialised 95° hinge geometry provides clearance for thick doors and doors with moulded, rebated or profiled edges. Blum provides planning information for front thicknesses up to 32mm.

The required minimum gap increases with the thickness and edge profile of the door. A trial installation is therefore recommended before drilling every door in a production run.

Screw-on hinge-cup fixing

The hinge has a traditional screw-on hinge cup for secure mechanical attachment to the back of the cabinet door.

Screw-on describes how the hinge cup is fixed to the door. It does not describe the separate cabinet-side mounting plate, which must be selected and purchased separately.
