PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Blum 71B3750 CLIP top BLUMOTION 110° Inset Screw-On Hinge

The Blum 71B3750 is a sprung CLIP top BLUMOTION concealed hinge for fully inset cabinet doors. Its fully cranked hinge arm positions the closed door within the cabinet opening rather than overlaying the cabinet sides.

This version combines a conventional screw-on hinge cup with integrated BLUMOTION soft close. It is well suited to cabinet manufacture, replacement installations and applications where a secure mechanical screw fixing is preferred.

Integrated BLUMOTION soft close

BLUMOTION is incorporated directly into the hinge cup and slows the door during the final stage of closing. This provides a smooth, controlled closing movement without requiring a separate soft-close adapter.

The BLUMOTION mechanism can be switched off on individual hinges. This helps achieve the correct closing action on particularly small or lightweight cabinet doors.

Inset cabinet-door application

An inset door closes within the cabinet opening rather than overlapping the front edge of the cabinet sides. The 71B3750 uses a fully cranked hinge arm to position the door correctly for this application.

The inset position is created by the hinge-arm geometry and mounting-plate location — not by a special “inset cup”. Blum specifies that the mounting-plate fixing position for an inset application should be moved back by the door thickness plus 1.5mm. The final door gaps also depend on the cup drilling distance, mounting-plate spacing and cabinet construction.

Traditional screw-on cup fixing

The 35mm hinge cup fits into a correctly prepared bore in the back of the door. It is then secured mechanically with suitable screws through the two fixing holes in the hinge-cup flange.

Once the hinge has been fitted to the door, Blum’s CLIP mechanism allows the hinge arm to be attached to or removed from a compatible cabinet mounting plate without tools.

Mounting plate and installation

A compatible cabinet-side Blum CLIP mounting plate is required and sold separately. For an inset installation, the mounting plate must be positioned farther back inside the cabinet than it would be for an overlay door. Check the door thickness, required gaps, cup drilling distance and selected mounting plate before drilling. A trial installation is recommended before drilling a complete set of cabinet doors.

Alternative inset hinges

The optional Blum 86° opening-angle stop can help prevent the door from opening into an adjacent wall, cabinet or appliance.

Frequently asked questions

What is an inset cabinet hinge?

An inset hinge positions the closed door inside the cabinet opening rather than overlaying the cabinet sides.

What creates the inset position?

The fully cranked hinge arm and the position of the cabinet mounting plate create the inset application. The hinge cup itself is not an “inset cup.”

What does screw-on mean?

It means the 35mm hinge cup is secured to the back of the door with screws through the cup flange.

Does this hinge include a mounting plate?

No. A compatible cabinet-side Blum CLIP mounting plate must be ordered separately.

Can the BLUMOTION soft close be switched off?

Yes. The damping mechanism can be deactivated on individual hinges when required.

What is the difference between 71B3750 and 71B3790?

Both are inset BLUMOTION hinges. The 71B3750 has a conventional screw-on cup, while the 71B3790 uses tool-free INSERTA fixing.

What is the difference between 71B3750 and 71T3750?

Both are sprung inset hinges with screw-on cups. The 71B3750 includes integrated BLUMOTION; the 71T3750 does not.
