The Blum 71B9690 CLIP top BLUMOTION hinge is designed for thick or profiled cabinet doors in a dual or half-overlay application. Its Onyx Black finish makes it particularly suitable for dark cabinetry and furniture where the concealed hardware may occasionally be visible when the door is open.

A half-overlay hinge is commonly used when two cabinet doors share the same central partition. Each closed door covers approximately half of the cabinet side, although the final overlay depends on the door thickness, cup-boring distance and selected mounting plate.

Designed for thick and profiled doors

The specialised 95° hinge geometry provides additional clearance for thick doors and doors with moulded, rebated or profiled edges. Blum provides planning information for front thicknesses up to 32mm.

The required minimum gap increases as door thickness increases. Door thickness, edge profile, boring distance and mounting-plate height must therefore be checked together. A trial installation is recommended before drilling every door in a production run.

Integrated BLUMOTION soft close

Blum's BLUMOTION technology is integrated inside the hinge, providing smooth, quiet and controlled closing without requiring a separate soft-close adapter.

The BLUMOTION function can be deactivated on individual hinges when necessary. This can help achieve the correct closing action on smaller or lightweight doors.

Tool-free INSERTA hinge-cup fixing

This version uses Blum's INSERTA hinge-cup fixing system. Once the cabinet door has been prepared with the correct INSERTA drilling pattern, the hinge cup can be secured without conventional fixing screws.

INSERTA refers only to the way the hinge cup is attached to the cabinet door. A separate compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate is still required on the cabinet side.
