PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Blum 71T3750 CLIP Top 110° Inset Screw-On Hinge – Nickel

The Blum 71T3750 is a sprung CLIP top concealed hinge for inset cabinet doors. Its double-cranked hinge arm positions the door inside the cabinet opening so the closed front sits flush with, or slightly behind, the cabinet sides rather than covering them.

Designed for kitchen cabinets, wardrobes and fitted furniture, the hinge provides a 110° opening angle and Blum’s tool-free CLIP connection between the hinge arm and mounting plate.

The hinge cup is secured to the door using a conventional screw-on fixing. The closing spring helps pull the door into its closed position, but this standard CLIP top model does not contain integrated BLUMOTION soft close.

What is an inset cabinet hinge?

An inset hinge is used when the cabinet door closes within the cabinet opening instead of covering the front edge of the cabinet sides.

The double-cranked arm of the 71T3750 moves the door into the required inset position. Correct installation requires sufficient clearance around the door so it can open without catching the cabinet sides, adjoining doors or surrounding frame.

Inset doors require more careful planning than standard overlay doors. The finished position is affected by the door thickness, cup drilling distance, mounting-plate location and hinge adjustment.

Screw-on hinge-cup fixing

The 71T3750 uses a screw-on hinge cup or boss. The cup is placed into a prepared 35mm drilling in the back of the door and secured through its fixing wings using suitable screws.

This product is not an INSERTA hinge and cannot be converted into one. For the equivalent sprung inset hinge with tool-free INSERTA cup fixing, choose the Blum 71T3790 inset INSERTA hinge.

Sprung without integrated BLUMOTION

The built-in spring helps pull the cabinet door closed and holds it in its closed position. However, the 71T3750 does not have an integrated BLUMOTION damper.

For the same inset application and screw-on fixing with built-in soft closing, choose the Blum 71B3750 CLIP top BLUMOTION hinge.

Planning an inset installation

The mounting plate for an inset door is positioned farther back inside the cabinet than it would be for an overlay application. Blum’s standard planning guidance moves the mounting-plate fixing position back by the door thickness plus 1.5mm.

The exact position and required clearance should be checked against the cabinet construction before drilling. Door-edge profiles, front thickness and side adjustment can all affect the minimum operating gap.

A trial installation is recommended where doors are unusually thick, heavily profiled or fitted into an existing framed cabinet.

Tool-free CLIP mounting

The hinge cup is screw-fixed to the door, but the hinge arm clips onto a compatible Blum mounting plate without tools. This makes it possible to remove and rehang the complete door without disturbing the cup fixing.

Once assembled, three-dimensional adjustment allows the door position and surrounding gaps to be refined.

Mounting plate required

This product is supplied as one hinge. A compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate is required and must be purchased separately. Confirm the mounting-plate height, fixing position and cabinet construction before ordering.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Blum 71T3750 have soft close?

No. It is a sprung, self-closing hinge without integrated BLUMOTION. The screw-on BLUMOTION equivalent is part number 71B3750.

Is the 71T3750 an INSERTA hinge?

No. The hinge cup is secured to the door with screws. The equivalent sprung inset hinge with INSERTA fixing is part number 71T3790.

What does inset mean?

Inset means the closed cabinet door sits within the cabinet opening rather than overlapping the cabinet sides.

Is the mounting plate included?

No. The hinge is supplied individually and requires a compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate, purchased separately.

Can the door be removed without unscrewing the hinge?

Yes. The CLIP connection allows the hinge arm to be released from the mounting plate while the screw-on cup remains attached to the door.

Is this hinge suitable for doors up to 24mm thick?

Yes. It can be used with doors up to 24mm thick, subject to the correct drilling position, mounting-plate location and operating clearance.
