Blum 73B3550 CLIP top BLUMOTION 110° Large-Overlay Screw-On Hinge – Onyx Black

The Blum 73B3550 CLIP top BLUMOTION special hinge provides increased overlay capacity for full-overlay cabinet doors fitted to thicker cabinet sides. Its specialised hinge-arm geometry allows the door to cover more of the cabinet side than a standard Blum 71B3550 overlay hinge.

Depending on the selected mounting plate, hinge-cup drilling distance and adjustment, the 73B3550 can provide overlay values up to approximately 20mm. The correct application must be calculated before drilling the cabinet door.

The Onyx Black finish complements dark kitchen units, bedroom furniture, display cabinets and contemporary cabinetry where the hinge may be visible when the door is open.

Special large-overlay geometry

A standard overlay hinge may not provide sufficient door coverage when used with a thick cabinet side. The 73B3550 has increased overlay capacity, helping position the closed door correctly across the front edge of the cabinet.

The 20mm measurement relates to the potential door overlay in a correctly planned application. It should not be treated as a universal maximum door-thickness specification.

Integrated BLUMOTION soft close

Blum's BLUMOTION technology is integrated inside the hinge, providing a smooth, quiet and controlled closing action without requiring a separate soft-close adapter.

The BLUMOTION function can be deactivated on individual hinges when necessary. This can help achieve the correct closing movement on smaller or lightweight cabinet doors.

Screw-on hinge-cup fixing

This model uses a traditional screw-on hinge cup. The 35mm cup is fitted into a correctly prepared boring and secured to the back of the cabinet door using suitable fixing screws.

Screw-on describes how the hinge cup is attached to the door. It does not refer to the separate cabinet-side mounting plate.

Mounting plate and related hinges

This product is supplied as one hinge only. A compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate must be selected and purchased separately. The mounting-plate height, cup-boring distance and hinge adjustment determine the final door overlay.

A compatible Blum 70T3553 opening-angle stop can reduce the opening to approximately 86° where additional protection is required. The stop is sold separately.
