Blum 79A5451.T −30° Type III Angled Cabinet Hinge
The Blum 79A5451.T is a specialist CLIP top hinge for −30° Type III maximum-overlay cabinet applications. It is designed for angled furniture constructions where the door and cabinet side do not meet at a conventional 90° angle.
The −30° designation describes the cabinet construction angle. The hinge itself provides an approximately 110° door-opening angle.
This is the sprung, screw-on version. It has a self-closing spring but no integrated BLUMOTION soft close.

Understanding Type III
Type III identifies the hinge-arm geometry used to create a maximum-overlay application on the specified angled cabinet construction. It should not be confused with an ordinary straight overlay hinge or with Blum's other Type I and Type II angled applications.
Mounting plate required
A compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate is required and sold separately. Mounting-plate height and any required angled spacer must be selected from the Blum planning information for the cabinet angle, side thickness, drilling distance and required overlay.

Installation guidance
Angled hinges should not be selected solely by the angle printed in the product name. Confirm the cabinet angle, application type, door thickness, cup drilling distance, mounting-plate height and required finished gap before drilling.
A trial assembly is strongly recommended. Small changes to the mounting position or cabinet angle can alter the finished overlay and door clearance.
Frequently asked questions
Does −30° mean the door only opens 30°?
No. The −30° figure describes the angle of the cabinet construction. The hinge provides an approximately 110° door-opening angle.
What does Type III mean?
Type III identifies the hinge geometry used for a maximum-overlay door on the specified angled cabinet construction.
Is this hinge sprung?
Yes. It has a self-closing spring that pulls the door into the closed position.
Does it include BLUMOTION soft close?
No. This hinge has a closing spring but no integrated BLUMOTION damping.
What does screw-on fixing mean?
The 35mm hinge cup is secured directly to the back of the door using suitable screws. The hinge arm still connects to a separate Blum CLIP mounting plate.
Is the mounting plate included?
No. The mounting plate is sold separately and must be selected according to the required angled application.
Can this replace a standard overlay hinge?
No. It has specialist geometry for a −30° Type III angled cabinet. A standard overlay hinge will produce different door positioning.
Is the hinge supplied as a pair?
No. This listing supplies one hinge. Order one suitable mounting plate for each hinge position.
