Blum 79A5453.T CLIP top −15° Type III Maximum-Overlay Sprung Hinge

The Blum 79A5453.T CLIP top angled hinge is designed for maximum-overlay doors fitted to cabinet faces with a −15° construction angle. Its specialist Type III geometry makes it suitable for angled corner cabinets, diagonal furniture and other non-standard cabinet constructions.

This is a sprung, self-closing hinge with a 110° opening angle. It does not contain integrated BLUMOTION soft close. The hinge has a screw-on 35mm cup and connects to a compatible CLIP mounting plate without tools, allowing the door to be removed and refitted easily.

Important: −15° describes the angle between the cabinet side and door mounting face. It is not the hinge opening angle, which is 110°.

Is the Blum 79A5453.T sprung or unsprung?

It is a sprung, self-closing hinge. It should not be confused with the later 78A5453.T unsprung version.

Does this hinge have soft close?

No. The 79A5453.T does not contain integrated BLUMOTION. Choose the 79B3453 version when integrated, switchable BLUMOTION soft close is required.

Does −15° mean the door only opens 15°?

No. The −15° figure describes the cabinet construction angle. The hinge itself has a 110° opening angle.

Is this hinge suitable for push-to-open doors?

No. Because it contains a closing spring, it is not the correct hinge for a TIP-ON or push-to-open door. An appropriate unsprung hinge should be used instead.

What does screw-on mean?

The 35mm hinge cup is secured to the door with screws. The hinge arm still clips onto the mounting plate without tools.

Is the mounting plate included?

No. The hinge is supplied individually and requires a compatible Blum CLIP mounting plate, selected according to the required overlay and cabinet construction.
