Blum CLIP top BLUMOTION 95° Thick-Door INSERTA Hinge – Onyx Black

The Blum 71B9590 CLIP top BLUMOTION hinge is a specialist concealed hinge for thick or heavily profiled overlay cabinet doors. Its 95° opening geometry provides additional door-edge clearance in applications where a conventional 110° hinge may cause a thick or moulded door to contact the cabinet side.

Integrated BLUMOTION soft-close technology provides smooth, quiet and controlled closing without requiring a separate damper. The BLUMOTION mechanism can also be switched off when reduced damping is required for smaller or lighter doors.

The INSERTA tool-free cup fixing allows the hinge to be secured into a correctly machined door without conventional hinge-cup screws. Combined with Blum’s CLIP mounting-plate connection, this provides fast hinge installation and tool-free door attachment and removal.

Designed for thick and profiled doors

Thicker cabinet doors and doors with deep edge mouldings need additional clearance as they open. The 71B9590 combines specialist profile-door geometry with a reduced 95° opening angle to help prevent the door edge from colliding with the cabinet side.

This hinge is not restricted to aluminium profile frames. It can be suitable for timber, MDF and composite doors with increased thickness or pronounced edge profiles, provided the complete installation is checked against Blum planning information.

How INSERTA fixing works

INSERTA refers to the method used to secure the hinge cup to the cabinet door. The hinge is inserted into a 35mm cup hole with two additional 8mm fixing holes. Closing the INSERTA lever expands the integrated fixing elements and locks the hinge securely into the door.

No conventional hinge-cup screws are required. Accurate machine drilling is essential, and INSERTA should not be confused with the separately purchased cabinet mounting plate.
