Blum 79B9595 +20° Type II Angled BLUMOTION Hinge

The Blum 79B9595 is a specialist +20° Type II angled overlay hinge for cabinets where the hinge-side mounting surface is positioned at a 20° cabinet angle. It allows an overlay door to be mounted on angled, diagonal or non-square cabinet constructions without relying on a standard straight hinge and improvised packing.

The hinge has a separate 95° door opening angle. The +20° figure describes the cabinet application angle and must not be confused with the distance the door opens.

Integrated BLUMOTION provides controlled soft closing and can be switched off at an individual hinge when required. The INSERTA fixing secures the hinge cup to the prepared door without separate fixing screws.

Understanding +20° Type II

The +20° designation refers to the angle of the cabinet construction at the hinge side. The hinge compensates for that angled mounting surface while supporting an overlay door.

Type II identifies this particular direction and geometry within Blum's angled-hinge system. A Type I hinge, negative-angle hinge or ordinary straight hinge should not be substituted solely because it has a similar-looking arm.

Mounting-plate planning

For Blum's standard +20° Type II overlay application No. 4, the factory-setting solution uses a 0mm mounting plate. A suitable option is a Blum 173H7100-series 0mm CLIP mounting plate.

The same angled hinge can appear in other planned door positions when combined with different mounting-plate spacings or angled spacers. These alternatives are not interchangeable without recalculating the application.

Please note: The mounting plate is not included. Confirm the cabinet angle, overlay position, drilling distance, door thickness and required gap using Blum's angled-application planning information or Product Configurator before drilling. A trial installation is recommended.

INSERTA door preparation

Prepare a 35mm hinge-cup hole to a depth of 13mm. Two additional 8mm fixing holes are required at 45mm centres with a 9.5mm offset from the cup centre line.

Position the INSERTA cup in the prepared holes and close the fixing lever. The expanding pins secure the cup to the door without separate hinge-cup screws.
