Blum 71T9780 CLIP top 95° Inset Knock-In Hinge

The Blum 71T9780 is a nickel-plated CLIP top hinge designed for thick and profiled inset cabinet doors. Its cranked hinge arm positions the closed door inside the cabinet opening, while the sprung mechanism provides a positive self-closing action.

The hinge opens to 95° and uses a knock-in 35mm hinge cup with pre-fitted fixing dowels. This provides a repeatable hinge-to-door fixing for workshop and production assembly using correctly prepared drilling and suitable insertion equipment.

This is a sprung, self-closing hinge and does not contain integrated BLUMOTION soft close.

Inset-door application

An inset hinge positions the closed door inside the cabinet opening rather than allowing it to cover the cabinet side panel. Correct clearance must be allowed between the edge of the door and the cabinet throughout the opening movement.

The door thickness, edge profile, hinge-cup position, mounting-plate height and cabinet construction all affect the final inset reveal and door clearance.

Knock-in hinge-cup fixing

The knock-in hinge cup has pre-fitted dowels that are pressed into two correctly drilled 8mm holes beside the 35mm cup recess. This provides a consistent fixing without separate cup-fixing screws.

Suitable insertion equipment or an appropriate workshop assembly method is required. Knock-in fixing should not be confused with Blum's lever-operated, tool-free INSERTA system.

The knock-in specification refers to the hinge-to-door connection. A separate Blum CLIP mounting plate is required on the cabinet.
