Wide 50mm Coverage

Successful application depends on the correct combination of temperature, heating time and pressure. Always test the process on an offcut made from the intended substrate before completing the finished component.

Application Guidance

1. Allow the veneer and substrate to acclimatise in the same environment.
2. Prepare a straight, clean, dry edge free from dust, grease and loose fibres.
3. Cut the veneer slightly longer than the component.
4. Position the veneer so that sufficient material overhangs both faces.
5. Activate the adhesive using suitable, evenly controlled heat.
6. Apply firm pressure immediately using an edging block or appropriate equipment.
7. Continue pressing while the adhesive cools and sets.
8. Check the entire width and length for securely bonded areas.
9. Allow the veneer to cool before trimming the overhang flush.
10. Lightly finish the edge and apply a compatible coating if required.

Avoid applying excessive heat, as this could scorch or discolour the Oak surface. When using a hand iron, place a suitable protective sheet between the heated surface and the veneer.

Finishing Oak Veneer

The genuine Oak face can be finished with a compatible clear lacquer, oil, wax or stain. Clear oil and lacquer generally deepen the natural colour and emphasise the open grain, while stains can be used to coordinate the edging with surrounding furniture.

Always test the selected finish on an offcut first. Avoid aggressive sanding because decorative veneer is much thinner than solid Oak.

As this is genuine Oak, colour, grain, ray markings and natural features will vary between rolls and batches. These variations are normal and give the finished edge an authentic real-timber appearance.
