At 50mm wide, this veneer is designed for thicker shelves, wide board edges, built-up panels and components that require considerably more coverage than standard narrow edging. The natural pine surface works well with pine-faced MDF, plywood, softwood furniture and pale timber interiors. It can be left light under a clear finish or stained to coordinate with darker furniture and surrounding joinery.

What Does FSHM Mean?

FSHM refers to veneer that is Fleeced, Sanded and supplied with Hot-Melt adhesive.

Why Choose the 50mm Width?

Application Guidance

Allow the veneer and panel material to acclimatise in the same working environment before installation. Prepare a straight, smooth, dry and stable panel edge, removing dust, oil, grease and loose fibres.

Cut the veneer slightly longer than the finished component. Position it carefully and activate the hot-melt adhesive using a suitable edge-banding machine, veneer iron or controlled heat source.

Apply firm and consistent pressure while the adhesive is warm. Work progressively along the component to reduce the risk of movement, bubbles or incomplete bonding.

Allow the adhesive to cool and develop its bond before trimming. Equipment settings and application speed will vary, so always test the veneer on an offcut before beginning a complete production run.

Trimming and Finishing

Once the bond has cooled, trim the excess material using a sharp veneer trimmer or suitable cutting tool. Work carefully with the grain to minimise the risk of tearing the natural wood surface.

Pine is softer than many hardwoods, so avoid excessive pressure and aggressive sanding. The veneer can be finished with a compatible clear lacquer, oil, wax or wood stain.

Clear finishes normally deepen the pale natural colour and emphasise the grain. Pine can absorb some stains unevenly, so test the complete finishing system on an offcut first. Use a suitable conditioner or sanding sealer where recommended by the finish manufacturer.
