PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Steamed Beech Flexible Wood Veneer FSHM 22mm x 100m is a decorative real wood veneer roll for cabinet makers, furniture makers, joiners and shopfitters where a warm, consistent beech finish is required.

Steamed beech is beech timber that has been heat-treated to produce a more uniform, warmer tone than natural beech. The steaming process evens out the colour variation between heartwood and sapwood, resulting in a consistent pinkish-brown appearance that is widely used in furniture production, fitted kitchens and interior joinery.

The 22mm width is ideal for covering the exposed edges of standard furniture boards, panels, shelves, cabinet components and drawer fronts. Supplied in a 100-metre roll, it is well suited to workshop and production use where a continuous veneer strip is needed.

What Does FSHM Mean?

FSHM stands for Fleeced, Sanded and Hot Melt. The back of the veneer is fleeced for flexibility and stability, the front face is sanded to a smooth, consistent finish, and a hot melt glue is applied to the reverse for iron-on application. When trimming after application, the cut follows the blade rather than the grain — giving a clean, controlled trim line regardless of grain direction.

Suitable applications include cabinet edging, furniture production, shelving, drawer fronts, door edges, fitted kitchens, shopfitting and bespoke joinery.

Once applied, this veneer accepts stain, lacquer, wax and oil finishes, allowing you to enhance or adjust the natural steamed beech colour to suit your project.

For best results, apply to a clean, dry, flat and stable surface. Always check grain direction, surface preparation and adhesive compatibility before final application.
