PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Toggler SNAPTOGGLE BM6L Long M6 Hollow-Wall Anchor

The Toggler SNAPTOGGLE BM6L is the long-strap version of the M6 hollow-wall anchor. It is designed for compatible thick wall, ceiling and layered assemblies that exceed the grip range of the standard BM6.

The BM6L uses an M6 × 1.0 thread, requires a 13mm installation hole and provides an extended 51–240mm grip range. At least 48mm of clear space is required behind the wall or ceiling to position the metal channel.

Why choose the Toggler BM6L?

  • Extended grip range: accommodates compatible assemblies from 51mm to 240mm thick.
  • Long-strap design: suitable for applications beyond the standard BM6 grip range.
  • M6 threaded fixing: creates a reusable metal-to-metal connection for a compatible M6 bolt.
  • Solid steel channel: sits behind the wall or ceiling to distribute the fixing force.
  • Removable fixture: the bolt can be removed while the correctly installed anchor remains in position.
  • Controlled installation: the straps hold the channel against the rear surface while the retaining cap is fitted.
  • Anti-rotation fixing: the channel remains positioned behind the surface while the bolt is tightened.

Typical applications

  • Compatible thick hollow-wall assemblies
  • Layered wall and ceiling constructions
  • Applications requiring more than the standard BM6 grip range
  • Wall-mounted brackets and rails
  • Suitable cabinets and shelving
  • Commercial installation and maintenance work

The BM6L must not be selected solely by fixture weight. Confirm the complete assembly thickness, wall or ceiling material, rear clearance, fixing spacing and intended load before installation.

No single safe load applies to every installation. Consult verified technical data for the specific substrate and application.

How to install the BM6L

  1. Measure the complete thickness of the wall, ceiling or layered assembly.
  2. Confirm that the measured thickness falls within the 51–240mm BM6L grip range.
  3. Confirm that at least 48mm of clear space is available behind the assembly.
  4. Check for concealed pipes, electrical cables and other obstructions.
  5. Drill a clean 13mm installation hole.
  6. Pass the zinc-plated steel channel through the hole.
  7. Pull the long straps forwards until the channel sits flat against the rear surface.
  8. Slide the retaining cap along the straps until its flange sits flush against the front surface.
  9. Move the straps from side to side to snap them off level with the cap.
  10. Position the fixture and insert a compatible M6 bolt.
  11. Tighten securely without crushing or damaging the wall or ceiling material.

Select the M6 bolt length according to the complete assembly and fixture thickness.

Frequently asked questions

What does the “L” in BM6L mean?

The “L” identifies the long-strap version. It is designed for thicker wall and ceiling assemblies than the standard BM6.

What grip range does the BM6L provide?

The BM6L has a verified grip range of 51–240mm. The standard BM6 has a different grip range and must not be confused with this model.

What thread size does the BM6L accept?

The BM6L uses an M6 × 1.0 metric thread.

What size installation hole is required?

A clean 13mm installation hole is required.

How much space is required behind the wall?

At least 48mm of unobstructed space is required behind the wall or ceiling to position the metal channel.

Can the fixture be removed after installation?

Yes. The compatible M6 bolt can be removed while the correctly installed anchor remains behind the wall or ceiling, allowing the fixture to be removed and refitted.

Is an M6 bolt included?

Check the current product variant and packaging information. If a bolt is not explicitly included, a compatible M6 bolt of the correct length must be ordered separately.

How much weight can the BM6L support?

There is no single safe load for every installation. Capacity depends on the substrate, assembly thickness, condition, anchor spacing, installation quality, fixture and loading direction. Consult verified technical data for the specific application.

Is the BM6L stainless steel?

No. This BM6L has a zinc-plated steel channel. Do not describe it as a stainless-steel anchor.

What is the Hart Wholesale stock code?
