The Blum 71B3690 CLIP top BLUMOTION hinge is designed for dual or half-overlay cabinet-door applications. Its cranked hinge arm allows two doors to share the same central cabinet partition while each door covers only part of the panel edge.

Finished in premium Onyx Black, this concealed hinge is particularly suitable for dark cabinetry, open shelving and furniture where the hinge may remain visible when the door is open.

The integrated BLUMOTION mechanism provides smooth, controlled soft closing without requiring a separate damper. BLUMOTION can also be deactivated on individual hinges when less closing resistance is needed for a small or lightweight door.

Where is a half-overlay hinge used?

A half-overlay hinge is normally used where two cabinet doors are fitted to opposite sides of the same central partition. The cranked hinge arm positions each door so that both can close correctly while sharing the panel.

This differs from a standard overlay hinge, where one door generally covers most of the cabinet-side edge, and an inset hinge, where the door closes inside the cabinet opening.

Prepare a 35mm hinge-cup drilling to a depth of 13mm together with two 8mm fixing holes on 45mm centres. Insert the hinge cup and operate the built-in locking lever. The expanding dowels secure the hinge without separate screws or insertion machinery.
